Student Work Reflection #1: What is one piece of work that you fell best demonstrates the PASSION that you have for Italian? Why?

One piece of work that I have always been proud of for Italian Class was my Italian World Language week project. I am not an artist nor a baker but I found a great amount of enjoyment in making the T shirt and making the food. The region I had was Liguria which in itself was an interesting region, but it made me feel more connected to Italy as a region. Learning about it was exciting because I enjoy the different cultures found in Italy. This project was the perfect way to show how much I loved Italian because it was not simply a focus on a single topic in Italian since no one really loves grammar, instead it was about a more broad topic that encapsulated actual learning.

Student Work Reflection #2: What is one piece of work that you found rather challenging? Why? How did you PERSEVERE in order to be successful?

One example of something that challenged me in Italian was always the vocabulary during my first year. Coming from Spanish immersion my mind was always thinking of everything in Spanish, which obviously caused problems. I remember the first quiz getting a grade that was not exactly the number I had in my head for something simple as a vocabulary quiz so I tried to my hardest to work on it. In this situation I had to persevere by practicing my vocabulary despite how mundane it was I always wanted to do my best because my good grades was one of the many ways i showed my love for Italian

Student Work Reflection #3-How was learning a world language helped you to understand your unique role as a global citizen? In the future, how will your language skills facilitate you active PARTICIPATION in a multicultural society

Learning multiple languages and coming from a multicultural family I have always felt an importance on bi or even trilangual skills. Both of my grandparents from my fathers side when I met them for the first time spoke no words of English. this made me already start off my life with a heavy focus on learning multiple languages. it constantly encourages me to learn more about other societies and learn more about myself constantly.
