Professors can have a profound impact on their students by motivating their students and helping them to overcome obstacles and challenges. The idea of grit can permit the professors to encourage their students to persevere and achieve their goals and success. When professors do not focus on motivating the students, instead just teach them concepts, it is disallowing the idea of grit to be developed and practiced. In other words, as a professor the job is not only to teach concept and grade them, the job of being professor also requires helping students to understand that is important to be self-aware with their learning and perseverance, that making mistakes is part of the process to succeed, but most important is not to give up, but to keep trying.
