He was board certified in anesthesiology with fellowship training in cardiac anesthesia and interventional pain management, extensive practice in Level 1 trauma surgery, and was invited to practice in hospitals overseas in training sabbaticals in Europe, Asia, and Australia. He completed his doctor of medicine degree at the University of Mississippi and was an intern at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas prior time his residency training at UT Southwestern , Parkland Memorial Hospital also in Dallas. An ordained deacon, teacher, and worship leader, Dr. Bennett has a longstanding commitment as a Christian who has served as a medical and evangelical missionary nationwide and overseas.
