I think the world is an awfully big place that still has so many things we have yet to learn or see. I think there is so much learning the world has to offer. I think it is crazy to think that we think of the biggest city in the US or even MN and just knowing there are so many people and places all around the world we have yet to see or meet only ever seeing them online is so wild. The way I see the world is shaped by the people I love and my core values (faith, sports, and family). I tend to have a really optimistic view on life which sometimes can be tested in times like these. I think everyone sees the world so differently and everyone can go through similar events in their lives but the response and how those events impact individuals are never truly the same.

I see the our planet as an astounding collection of processes and cycles that have occurred for millions of years before us, and will continue to do so for long after. Humanity is but a blip on our global timescale, yet we have advanced at an incredibly rate. This advancement is due to our Earth, and we must acknowledge this with respect and service. Our Earth is meant to be explored, experienced, and shared, but we must remember to respect it and to work to maintain it for future generations, as well as the multitudes of life that we share it with. If you couldn’t tell, I’m a bio major, so I view a lot through that perspective. This lens definitely shapes my views on humanity, and how we are meant to relate to one another. All of humans are but one species, separated by geography and nothing else. We all share common ancestry, common genomes, common cultures. This view helps me when meeting new people, or people from new and different cultures. All across the globe, people are experiencing the same struggles and hardships, the same joys and wonders. If we only stopped for a moment and realized this truth, I think the world would be a much greater place, with more love and understanding.

I like to look at the world with a big open heart and open mind. I find myself to be a pretty optimistic person where I tend to focus on the good. I would say that I am a dreamer and that the world is full of opportunities. We have the ability to make the world a better place! I think that it is crazy how big the world is and how everything still seems to be interconnected. I think there are many aspects of my life that shape the way I see the world. I think how I was raised and my parents play a vital role in how I see the world. My upbringing shaped my critical lens and shaped my worldview. I think everyone has their own opinion and their own lens that makes them unique.

The world is so much larger and more diverse than I think any of us can truly comprehend. Humans are so similar, yet so different. We are different in both physical appearance and in thoughts and ideas. These differences often make it difficult to see eye to eye, but I think that diversity should be looked at as a strength and not a weakness. At the end of the day we are all humans who bleed red.
