"I Spy"

The teacher should start off explaining the rules of the game to the class. The teacher will call on individual students and have them look around the classroom for an object and spell it, instead of saying the actual word. For example, the student will say, "I spy a b-o-o-k". The class will have to listen to the spelling of the word and look for that object.

a great activity for phonics would be a flash card game that involved different sounds and the students must make the sounds and give a word with that sound in it in order to get a point. This is a great game to get the students more involved in the phonics.

a good activity would be prompting them in class or when there is a little free time

The teacher should first create cards with vocabulary words the students need to know for that class. Divide class into small groups. The students will take turns drawing a picture of the vocabulary word and guessing the illustration.

An activity that would be helpful to the children for reading comprehension would be the children drawing pictures after they have read a story or been read to. This will show you as a teacher what they understood by allowing them to do wsomething fun and creative that does not seem like a lot of work or a chore for them to do.
