- to my understanding land-based education helps or requires students to understand themselves first to understand their personal history in the past, present, and future.
- this is where we would want indigenous people to lead discussions regarding land education in communities.
- land based education is all about focusing on decolonization and the relationship between land and settler colonialism.

- as this model emphasizes community needs and engagement, they do not go far enough to promote decolonizing goals that should be included in any place-based education model interested in cultural and ecological sustainability. (Calderon).
- I also feel that place-based educations helps student connect with the local cultures and heritages.
- place based also doesn't go far enough to incorporate decolonizing goals in education for the students.

- Of course land-based and place-based can be used together by incorporating community projects such as art projects and service learning programs. Summer camps are also a great way for students to learn about both land/place based educations.
- While students are learning how to immerse themselves into the local culture they are also learning about the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being that helps with building the community up and awareness of the land they sit on and the culture they are continuously seeing.
