Greetings from Yellowstone Nat'l Park! (and Grand Tetons Nat'l Park.)

-You really can't see all of Yellowstone in one day.
-We also spent a couple of hours at Teton Village, which has a lift that is about 30 degrees (F) lower than at the bottom of the lift. The view is wonderful, and there a couple patches of slush/snow near the lift. You can literally see for miles from there.
- The Grand Tetons vary in age , from 1-2 billion years old, and vary in composition as well.

We arrived at NYC, and we stayed at the "Trump International Hotel & Tower(R) at New York". We left the Hotel early in the morning, and watched Fox News at Starbucks, listening to the latest story about how ISIS had just been defeated after Trump had sent the 1st American Expeditionary Force into Syria and Iraq, and actively fought on the ground against the ISIS insurgents. It was August 4th, 2017. One of my companions commented that this was all just history to him, which makes sense, since he's from the year 2407... (We have a time-traveling minivan.)
Afterwards, we walked and took the subway to the Empire State Building, traveling up to the 87th floor and the 102nd floor, the latter being restricted to people who paid extra to be able to go up to that floor. The 87th floor is the floor that is seen in movies and photos, and the spectacular view of [most] of New York, which has made the Empire State Building as an iconic part of NYC.

The Alamo was a major battlefield in the war between Mexico and the Republic of Texas, and occurred in 1836. The actual Alamo was a lot bigger than the site that has been preserved and you see today. The Alamo was originally a Spanish missionary church. The Mexican Army under Santa Anna won the battle, but the bravery and sacrifice of the men who fought there sparked others across Texas to join the fight for independence under Sam Houston, who eventually led to Santa Anna being captured, and Texas gaining its independence from Mexico.

The second day of our mini-trip to NYC. We rode the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We all tried researching if any of our ancestors came through Ellis Island on their way in becoming an American citizen and joining the "melting pot" that is the United States of America. The duo from 2407 couldn't find anything since they haven't been born yet........

On our third day, we went to the Guggenheim Museum of Art, which had some...... interesting pieces of art. Next, we went on a tour down Wall Street. There was a "bombing" in 1920, which have left markings on the surrounding buildings. Next, we went on a bus tour through Harlem. Our guide...... was pretty funny. As some would say, it was pretty "lit". After that, we took the subway back to the hotel.

The trip to Galena, Illinois and the Panic that followed us......

On our trip through the United States, we stopped at Galena, Illinois. It's a relatively small town, but it used to be a major port for trade down the Misissippi River back in the 1800's. The town also has a Sea Wall because of the chance of flooding via the river that flows by the town. There are many small storefront shops that you can buy things, like candy and clothes from. There are a few small museums around the town, but they mostly don't attract much attention. Ulysses S. Grant, General during the Civil War, and 18th President of the U.S. lived for a time in the town. The town was named Galena from the name of the ore that was mined nearby, which lead can be extracted from.

We then took our vehicle to Fort McHenry, which overlooks Baltimore Harbor. We arrived on a little known holiday known as "Flag Day". As a celebration for the holiday, the National Park personel decided to use the 40x42ft flag, which is similar in dimensions to the actual flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the National Anthem. Everyone had fun looking around the fort---except that it was HOT during the time we were there. One of the bastions was partly underground, and out of the sun, which meant it was MUCH cooler. Overall, it was a fun little trip.

We decided to to take a three-day tour of Washington, D.C. after our little trip to Fort McHenry and NYC. On the first day after settling in at the hotel, we took a trip to the American Holocaust Memorial Museum. The two of the group that were from 2407 were a little shocked and cried at some points along the tour, but were unemotional during the rest of the overall tour. Mr. Winston (the adult from the present that was in the party) and Gabriel were soaking the information that was being presented to them quietly. I had been through the Museum before with my family, but was mostly watching the other members of our party of seven and how they reacted. The remaining two members reacted very emotionally, using much facial tissues during the tour.....
