As known as South Africa’s whale-watching capital, the small seaside town of Hermanus sits on Walker Bay, just a couple of hours southeast of Cape Town. Here the water stays deep right up to the shoreline, so even when you’re not out on a boat trip, you’ll often have close-up views of resident Bryde’s whales and, between June and October, migratory southern right and humpback whales.

It usually takes place in January and February and it celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Lunar calendar. The festival lasts sixteen days and the first day marks the moon. We always wear new clothes in Lunar New Year because it protects us from evil spirits. Fai Chun is used to decorating doorways during Chinese New Year and usually written phases that mean good luck. We also meet relatives on the first day of Chinese New Year and get red packets from them. We watch Lion dancing too. Lion Dancing is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture, the performers mimic a lion movement in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune.

  On the Christmas day, children will get a lot of gifts from their parents and friends. They will eat turkey and Christmas puddings. Everyone will receive candies, chocolates , cookies and some special small gifts. The house will be full of joy. Everything is full of love and happiness on the Christmas day. Their homes will be filled with full of joy and pleasant, their hearts will be warm. 
  This is the reason why I like Christmas.

My mum gave me a surprise with a big "Christmas Sock" on the Christmas day. Inside the sock, there were many candies, chocolates and snacks. I loved it very much!

Christmas is the day when Jesus was born. You might ask if I like Easter too cause it is the day that Jesus has reborn. I would say I like Christmas more because we get so many presents. My favourite present is a redmi note 10s, I loved it very very much.
The most fun part is decorating the Christmas tree and our family tradition instead of putting a bright star we put a paper star.
We usually go to my best friend's house(Bessie and Chloe). We get to have a sleepover night! Yay! That was an epic night. Shh...let me tell you a secret we stay up until three o'clock. :)

Let me introduce more about my favourite festival to you – Dragon Boat Festival has a history of more than 2000 years. It is to commemorate Qu Yuan, an official of the state of Chu and was committed suicide by drowning himself in the river. The people were very sad. They throw rice dumplings into the river to feed the fish so the fish would not eat Qu Yuan’s body.
I like to eat rice dumplings and hope that I can join the dragon boat race one day. I hope you will like Dragon Boat Festival too.

My favourite festival is Easter.Why do I like Easter? Because I love eating and playing with my friends and family.

Last Easter, my family and I made bunny-shaped cookies together. We also melted  the chocolates and decorated the cookies. They were very cute and tasty!  Moreover, my little sister, my cousins and I played Easter egg treasure hunt. My mum hid the Easter eggs and we hunted them. We all had so much excitement.

            One night , it was the time for me and my sister to sleep 🛌, when we were closing the curtains , we saw a big and round moon , the light of the moon illuminated everything , it was very beautiful.

If you are an expert in making snow sculptures, you can join the International Snow Sculpture Contest. The contest has been held at Odori Park site for nearly 50 years. The number of snow sculptures displayed is 400 approximately. 

Apart from the snow or ice statues, you can also enjoy a variety of regional food from Sapporo, such as fresh seafood, potatoes, corn, and fresh dairy products. 

Unfortunately, Sapporo Snow Festival is cancelled in 2022 because of the ongoing pandemic. After the hunt , we can eat the scrumptious chocolates they we found.Next we played games with eggs, such as egg run race and painting eggs .I have created an orange egg with a special pattern, my sister has painted a Blue sky egg. Before all the fun ends we visited my pet bunny and played with her.
Easter is an excellent time to play, but we also have to remember to be good.

The origin of the Dragon Coat Festival is to commemorate the death of Qu Yuan who was a Chinese poet, he drowned himself when he knew that his king, Chu king surrendered the state to their rivals.  The people beat the drums, splashed the water with their paddles, and threw the rice dumplings into the water in order to keep the fish and evil spirits from Qu Yuan's body. Nowadays, the main activity in the Dragon Boat Festival is dragon boat races.  I really want to try to play dragon boat racing.  Other than boat racing, I Love eating different types of rice dumplings or zongzi.  In fact, they are all made of glutinous rice, the only difference is the fillings.  I like Cantonese rice dumplings because it has salt egg, chicken wing, and dried sausage.  That's why I like Dragon Boat Festival, my mother always restrain me from eating too much zongzi.

Halloween is a festival that when you say trick or treat, people will give you yummy candies.

Why I like Halloween is because we can get a lot of candies and we can dress up Halloween dresses like a witch, a black cat or a ghost.

At Halloween, I can go to the Halloween playhouse. There have a lot of fun things to do like making crafts, painting, lucky draw and face painting.
