(the story takes place 1876-1881) After Marilla and Matthew had taken her, Anne's hearthungry soul is (almost) perfectly happy. But Anne has many accidents. For instance, she sets her friend Diana drunk while they are having a tea party. Will she ever grow up to be a sensible and really grown-up woman or will she never give up her heedlessness? Me for myself I like this book very much. It is about John, Susan, Titty and Roger, siblings who spend their vacation at a lake. They are waiting for the permission to camp on a small island on the lake all by themselves. They are allowed to. On the short sailing trip to the island they discover a houseboat. They think (or at least Titty thinks) there is a retired pirate livng in there. Is the man really? Or is it just one of Tittys fancies?
