To all of the future educators, how do you feel about using Number Paths as opposed to a Number Line for grades K-1?

I see number paths a lot in 1st grade! When given an addition of subtraction students take out their number paths without even being asked, because it really does help them solve equations quickly and effectively! They are a great tool.

Number Paths seem to be an especially useful tool for students learning to add and subtract. It is also another resource for them besides using their fingers, especially if they are adding and subtracting big numbers.

I think number paths could also help older students when they first start talking about decimals. I think it would be great for students to have something that has the intervals that they can easily move along with a manipulative of dry erase marker.
