1) I realised that across all IGs, we have common challenges that we all face and have different solutions to tackle them. Across different IGs, we shared our differing solutions which brings a different perspective of handling these challenges that we face.

2) One main change for me would be finding a balance. I am very academically focused which had placed me in a lot of stress as I would be torn between the commitment of both studies and my IG. What I would want to change is to find the balance and properly manage my time, ensuring commitment in both sectors and lessen the stress on myself.

For example, lack of committed members and time-management were issues that most of the IGs face. The presentation that followed the discussions also enabled us to be equipped with possible solutions that we can take back with us.

2) One main change that I can do would be to learn how to take ownership of my decisions and not be apologetic when I have to be strict during serious times. This could be done by clearly communicating my aspirations for the IG to the rest of the committee.

My biggest takeaway from the 10 challenges is that knowing your purpose and knowing what you want for the IG is important before you even try to convey the message to your members as sometimes members do not understand as to why we have to do a certain things and for example like why we have to be hard on them. Hence, being able to know your purpose for the IG enables you to better communicate with you members as well as your committee.

2. One change that I can make is that I should hear more on the well being of my committee before doing something or before making a decision. We need to know how to draw the fine line between members and excos during trainings, or knowing how to be professional and when to get personal at the correct timing. We need to have confidence in what we do.

2. One thing I can do in my IG is that I could update the other departments in our Excos on our progress so that each of us are aware of what is being done in each department. In addition, it allows us to communicate more and give our opinions on whats being done, alongside giving suggestion to improve better.

For example, when it is time to be serious, we all should be serious. There should be boundaries that should not be crossed whether it is from committee member to member or vice versa.

2. What is 1 main change that YOU, as an individual in your committee, can do to better your IG?
- One main change that I could do is to have a direction and be more confident. With a direction, I will know what I want to achieve and how far I want to bring my IG to. And with that, I would require confidence to lead my IG. It is very easy to sense that someone is not confident in what they do, but when the leader is confident, the followers would tend to follow because they would feel that the leader is able to lead them to greater heights and not doubt their leadership.

1) My biggest takeaway was how different IGs handle attendance issues differently. For example, the most interesting solution was from Rhapsody, who suggested a coupon that allows for people to "skip" a session for their school commitments. I think this was interesting to help retain members and allow them to bond, while also giving the members the freedom to balance their life in their IG and school and personal life. Another solution that was more relatable for my IG was to set boundaries for the members so that they understand what entails in their attendnace and how they should behave.

2) I can start by being more encouraging towards my members' positive actions and praise them. This change can help to bring my members together by showing that we value their efforts and understand the importance of CAP.

The biggest takeaway from the 10 challenges is the purpose of why we stay and commit in our IGs as I struggled with coming to training not for passion but for the sake of coming and I am part of the committee and I have responsibilities as a leader so it is important for us to recognise and find what drives us in our IGs so that we are able to give our fullest potential in achieving our IGs vision and mission.

2. 1 main change to better myself as a commitee member is to take initiative in taking in the workload as compared to my other members as my role does not have a lot of work so I am able to help out the rest of the committee.

This allow us to share our problem between IG, understanding our problem and what we have going through - allowing us to have empathy and understanding with each other.

2. I feel that one thing i can do is to communicate more with my members if I were to really have a lot of things to tank. I feel that it us only fair if they know so that we are able to communicate with each other. This applies to other member, so that we can have empathy and also motivation to each other

1) One of the takeaway from the 10 challenges would be how different IGs tackle the different challenges. For example, if an IG is facing an issue and does not know how to tackle it, we are allowed to ask advice or seek help from other IGs as they might have an answer to help.

2) With what i have learnt today, I feel like a change to better the IG is to have open-mindedness to take feedback toward any level. meaning if its a praise, means you did something good/expected from you. if it is bad, means its a opportunity for you or as a IG to grow by finding ways to improve

The biggest takeaway that I was able to take from the other leaders is how each EXCO commitee from different IGs manage issues and that we do have similar problems with others and through discussion we were able to give our thoughts to the problems that we faced. from the presentation i was also able to get ideas from other Commitee for example how do we manage the time management issues. Overall, it was a great discussion for us to solve issues that we had for awhile.

2. 1 main change that I could have is to take the initiative to make sure that my other EXCO commitee's are well and give a helping hand when in need such as when we need to manage things regarding the members so that the EXCO commitee will help to their fullest extend.

1) My biggest takeaway is learning to understand that as a committee member, you truly uphold a huge role no matter which department you’re in-charge of in the IG. You’re equally as important and you have a say in things!

It really makes me understand that there is no room for being a people pleaser (e.g thinking that people will hate me if i do a certain thing). I really have to do what it takes to keep things going since i am given the role.. It truly will be a challenge as it takes a lot of courage, perseverance, discipline to do whatever it takes to bring up the IG.

In terms of upholding, i learn that it starts from me. No matter what people are going to say/hate you for it, keep going :” !!!

2) 1 main thing that i would wish to change is to shape the members to be a true dikir baratist player.

My true definition of a dikir baratist player is to be open to learn no matter how much of experience you have. Be humble and be disciplined to do perform with a sense of purpose based on what was taught. I believe that art comes from within. To showcase that, we must understand what is the meaning of the set and follow the benchmark that was set.

Being in Dikir Barat isn’t just about performing. Its about delivering the message. All we need is the the knowledge and understanding for that.
