Duarte Geraldino: what were missing in the debate about immigrants

Duarte Geradino, a journalists, tells us on how important it is that we acknowledge the presence of immigrants in our social circle. He talks about what the statue of Liberty symbolizes, and asks us and himself , is she good or bad?
This video pulled my attention by the title, " what were missing in the debate about immigrants''. So what are we leaving out? Duarte tells us of how his mother explained the statue of Liberty, that she invites immigrants in. These days I think that she has been saying goodbye to immigrants rather than letting them in. Imagine being ripped away from your country, because at this point many immigrants call this country home, and to be moved to an unfamiliar place sounds so scary. The speaker asks us to examine our social Circe, and if we have immigrants in them. These immigrants make impacts in our lives and lives around there community. In my social circle i got friends who are hard workers and inspire me to do better everyday. In my close circle are my parents, whom are immigrants and have really pushed me to take advantage of what this country gives because they cant take those perks.

TED Talk Jorge Ramos and how he spoke up

In this TED Talk, Univision Journalist Jorge Ramos describes his life as a journalist and immigrant. He tells his story of his feud with President Donald Trump.
This TED talk was really inspiring because Jorge didn't stop and let the President say hurtful and false statements towards people like himself. I know its hard for immigrants to come to this country, to give up there old life, say goodbye to loved ones, having an idea that it'll be the last time they see them. America, in its early stages , would let immigrants in and invite them to enjoy the land. These days its the opposite, undocumented immigrants being ripped apart from families, and enforcing border patrol, to the point where the president wants to invest in a bigger wall around Americas borders. What most people try to ignore is the fact that this country was built by immigrants, they fill in the jobs that no one else wants. What I like about this TED Talk is that Jorge took his thoughts and spoke out against the president , saying that as an American he has rights to stand up to whats wrong. Immigrants can make a big impact in society, helping and filling in positions others cant take, and can be part of society, withholding the foundation of democracy

Summary: Four college students decide to sit in a Diner that is segregating colored people, and just sit there and do not move. There actions led more people to follow and would cause segregation to be banned from public places.
This movement would create an organization to support sit ins, and protests. The organization would contribute to the civil rights act of 1964.
I think that the more youth that we educate to exercise there rights , the more things will get done. I think it is important for students to take part of there government and stand up to unjust and unlawful acts going on.

Photograph- Dreamers outside the Capital

This photograph is of dreamers standing outside the Capital to support the differed action for DACA and childhood arrivals. This image is powerful because we see the support for dreamers and illegal immigrants. This image speaks to me because they are kids and youth coming over to America that want a life here, and know nothing but American society, and they need to stay here and get there education on, but they're people that want them out , and that is why i like people supporting immigrants like the ones in the picture. This issue matters to me because coming from a immigrant family and seeing them worried about whether or not they will have to be forced to move back to there homeland , and leave me and my brother here, is heartbreaking, i wouldn't want anybody to worry about having there parents stripped from them. This image is from wtop.com and by The Associated Press.
