Being a woman in Africa means, more than elsewhere, suffering an existence marked by violence.
In South Africa, every hour, on average, three women die under the blows of their spouses.
A few years ago, a young student, Uyinene Mrwetyana, had been murdered.
An anonymous letter had been sent to her and inviting her to go to a post office to receive a package, unfortunately she never left the post office.
After the discovery of her death and an investigation, Uyinene Mrwetyana had been raped before being murdered.
Today, the question about the women’s protection is realy important in Africa and notably in South Africa.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa assured Tuesday, October 18 that his government supported "without qualms" the self-proclaimed Sahrawi Arab Republic (SADR) in Western Sahara. The Polisario Front (independence), supported by Algeria, wants an independent state in Western Sahara, a vast expanse of desert that Morocco considers to be part of its own territory.
“We are concerned about the silence that persists in the world regarding the struggle for self-determination of the people of Western Sahara,” Ramaphosa said during a visit to Pretoria by Polisario Front leader Brahim Ghali.

A white South African pastor was convicted on Wednesday 28 September 2022 of planning "terrorist" attacks against "Africans" which also aimed to overthrow the government.
According to the perpetrator, he was ordered to do so by God.
Self-proclaimed leader of the extreme right Christian National Resistance Movement, he "was found guilty of preparing and planning terrorist attacks," the National Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
Harry Knoesen was sentenced twice to life imprisonment and a 21-year sentence.
These attacks were aimed at non-white people living in the townships. The deprived areas that emerged from Arpartheid and which contained a majority of black people.
The pastor was also convicted of incitement to commit an attack and of illegal possession of firearms and munition. When he was arrested, papers related to the preparation of the attacks were found. He was also reported to have planned weapons for the purpose of "killing and infecting members of the African population".
