As part of our PSED topic, we are learning about jobs and responsibilities across society, so we focused this week on bus drivers and the role they have. Before our journey, we gave our 🎟️tickets🎟️ to Martin the driver, and made sure our seatbelts were fastened and that we were ready and safe for our trip. What an adventure!

For Sports Day, each class has been allocated a country- in Teal, we have America! Go Team USA! 🏆

Created by the UNCRC (United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child), this year’s theme is ‘Protect Play, Protect Childhood’.

We always use play across the curriculum to engage, educate and inspire the children in Teal Class, and this was no different!

Each child (and adult!) had a great time! 🎉

Lauren introduced the children to key Spanish vocabulary, and everybody practised saying ‘hola’ to their peers before Lauren introduced them to the Spanish version of ‘If You’re Happy and you Know it’. Kirsty sang the English version first, and then Lauren provided the Spanish alternative, with the rest of the staff and the children doing the actions for each part. It was muy divertido 🇪🇸

In the afternoon, the children collaborated on a Spanish flag activity, using a variety of tools and art mediums to mark-make and create a beautiful work of art. They then attended a Spanish cuisine tasting session, where some were brave enough to explore a Spanish rice dish and homemade tres leches cake!

Overall it was a great day, full of engagement and fun!

To show our support, in Teal Class we will be making posters and banners to be held outside the stadium. We can’t wait to get creative, colourful (and very messy!) for such a great cause!
