My favorite artist of all time is nobigdyl. I bet I am in his top 3 listeners over the last five years. I have been following him since he was just some rapper from my sister's church, and now he is one of the biggest names in the Christian rap scene. This song is the epitome of the message he is trying to push: without God, we are empty, and through Him, we are fulfilled and have joy.

I was going to do the Austin Peay fight song and talk about what the football team means to me, but it wasn't on Spotify. I am an Auburn fan, so I thought it would be a good placeholder. My brother played football at Murray State, our arch rival, so I hated Austin Peay until I was recruited here. Since then, I have come to love the Govs, and I enjoy going to all the sporting events I can, and when we start playing Murray again in 2027, I will hate them like I used to hate AP.

Surfaces is my favorite secular band, but one of my favorite parts about them is that they aren't entirely secular. Both members are Christian, and the lead singer is the most prominent CCM artist at the moment. Their songs have a connected theme of enjoying nature, specifically the beach, and underlying Christian themes exist. On top of that, they're love songs, which connect with me, and this song is just the perfect combination of having a scenic view in front of you and someone you love next to you.

This is one of my favorite songs currently, and it's my go-to whenever I need to get pumped up. My favorite genre is Christian Rap, and one of the biggest critiques of the genre is that it isn't good and corny, but this is one of the best songs I've heard. Another critique, from other Christians, is that it's sinful or too similar to secular rap, but this song is more theologically dense and accurate than all of the worship and CCM songs that get all the streams.

This was one of my Dad's favorite songs, and he wanted it to be sung at his funeral. My dad was very important to me; we butted heads a lot, but he taught me everything I know about work ethic and how to treat others, especially women. It's such a beautiful song that's about what heaven would be like, and it's a source of hope in a dark world, and it's a great reminder of what my faith is all about.
