The Sistine Chapel is the most popular monument of the Vatican City that was built between 1475 and 1481 , following the will of Pope Sixtus IV, who is the one which the chapel is named after. As we said previously, it is situated in the Vatican city, precisely along the way to Vatican Museums, and it’s known because it’s where official religious ceremonies are celebrated by the Pope and the Bishops. Also it’s very appreciated by tourists and locals since there are many frescos which represent biblical scenes made by various famous artists of the 15th century , especially the one made by Michelangelo Buonarroti, that decorates the main vaulted of the chapel: “The Last Judgment” that represents the last arrival of Christ on earth, before the starting of the Kingdom of Heaven. Another piece of art made by Michelangelo Buonarroti too, is The Creation of Adam, which is also a very famous and important representation.

It has been built from the remains of another chapel, built according to another pope during the 13th century. The project involved to strengthen the walls and the whole base structure and it was designed by Baccio Pontelli. During the centuries the Sistine Chapel was modified by different popes, until it became the one we know today.

Sofia Monaco, Carmen Mele, Veronica Petrocchi, Maria Chiara Colombo.

Altare Della Patria is one of the most iconic monuments in Rome. This is a fantastic architetural landmark ideated by Giuseppe Sacconi and decorated by Angelo Zanelli, which was built in between 1885 and 1935 in Piazza Venezia in the complex of Vittoriano, place named after Vittorio Emanuele II. Even though the building was finished in 1935 it has been opened to the public since 1911 on the occasion of 50th annyversary of Italy's unification. It's a symbol of Italy's liberation from foreign domination under Vittorio Emanuele II di Savoia's reign. Its design is centered on the Rinascimento which translates to renaissance, this style is used to symbolize Italy's rebirth. In the middle of the altar there is a statue of the Goddess Roma and two bas-reliefs which depict Patriotic Love's fight and Work that edifies and fertilizes. The monument is decorated with more bas-reliefs about Love of the Fatherland and the Country. It's the site of several national celebrations every year and it's a very unique place for its spectacular view of Rome that allows the sight of most major monuments such as the Colusseum, St. Peter, Imperial Forums.

Written by: Nicolò, Diego, Alessio, Yutaka, Flavio

Ibi is a very small mountain town. People were dedicated to agriculture: there were almond and olive trees. But it didn't prosper, so they looked for other things. Many went to Madrid to work in the tile factories, in 1850 or thereabouts. It is clear that they met people from outside, among them an Italian who knew how to make ice cream. That Italian taught a person from Ibi and when he came he discussed it with the countrymen. I think the thing about the snow pits is a coincidence. There are many, gigantic, very well preserved. Many people were dedicated to snow: they collected it, threw it into the well and pressed it there. It was compacted, made into ice, and sold when there were no refrigerators. Between the Italian thing and the snow, people dedicated themselves to making ice cream. And the few families that were in Ibi looked for a medium-sized town or capital to sell ice cream. So there are Ibi ice cream makers throughout Spain

The function of the snow pit was not only to preserve the snow in a good condition and be able to use it for the creation of artisan ice cream. Hence the relationship between the well and the artisan ice cream.
