Strengths & Weakness

Cory has many strength going along with his determination to reach his goals. We hear him talk about balancing his school and work life several times throughout the play. Cory does have a large weakness in acceptance though. This is especially obvious in one of the final scenes where he almost refuses to go to his fathers funeral. I sympathize with Cory strongly because I also have problem with accepting change.

This is "My Son Tred Always Follow Father's Footsteps" by Theodore Kittlesen. It shows two anthropomorphic frogs walking, the father in front as the son walks through the fathers footprints in the mud. I think this relates to Cory because he looked up to his dad very much, but even though he did not want to end up like Troy many of his traits rubbed off on him.

The author wrote this several years after his fathers death, so Cory would relate to the reminiscing of a lost father as well.

The song I chose talks about being raised to a better version of himself. I think Cory would relate to this later in the play because of his realization that his father had already helped him grow up and become a great man. He does not need to worry about all the bad things he did anymore
