What is probably the worst hurricane recorded?

The worst hurricane is probably going to be hurricane Catrina. It was only a category 3, but in that area were it hit, they have a levy that keeps all the water from the ocean in, and that levy broke and all the water came out; flooding the whole city. It was devastating for all the families. I’m talking 6,7 feet of water. People had to stand on the roofs. Rescue boats had to come and save everybody. So many people died. It was a very harsh hurricane.

Category’s (otherwise known as “cat”) are the thing that tells you how fast the winds in the hurricane is going. The cat’s go up to 5. If they break the record of cat 5, the weather people will indeed add 6. The cat’s are based on a certain speed. You can look up on google what they are even tho you probably looked this up to see what it was.
