Winter is close enough… and many animals are preparing their nest for what we usually call «hibernation». But what is hibernation? And why do some animals sleep all winter? Do they need special preparation for this? And finally, who are these animals?

The answers to these questions are given by our school mascot Lakis Lagoudakis and Beetbot will help us find a suitable place for every other forest animal.

Taking the role of programmer, one child will try to give the appropriate instructions to his pair, to lead to the square that indicates a suitable place for a certain animal. They will then try together to create the algorithm for the route they followed using matching cards with directional arrows that will correspond to the instructions given (go one step forward, turn right / left, etc).  Finally Beebot will be programmed to do the same route.

The aim of the activity is for the children to get to know the basic programming commands and to familiarize themselves with the algorithmic way of thinking.
