Upgraded from Majlis Daerah Hulu Selangor (MDHS) on October 21, 2021, MPHS focuses on urban planning, municipal services, and sustainable development. It oversees areas known for ecotourism and industrial growth, aiming to be a "Smart, Sustainable, and Livable Municipality." The council also engages the community through awareness campaigns, youth and sports programs, welfare initiatives, and tourism promotion.
