Miss O’Brien said that it wasn’t going well for them because she was afraid that the jury wouldn’t see a difference between him and all the bad guys taking a stand. Steve listens to the two woman talking and then runs away because it was the first time he hears about the story that happened at the drugstore after he left it. Then at home he saw the news reporter talking about the crime and he was so shocked. Then two weeks after Willams came to Steve’s house and handcuffed him and drove him away. When mr. Nesbitt died, the bullet entered the body on the left side and traversed upwards through the lung. During court miss O’Brien writes down what is being said, and what is being said about Steve, and she adds it all up to guilty. He is very scared of the time he could be serving in jail. Steve walked in the drugstore just to get some mints the he walked out. He thought if he got out after 20 years he’d be 36 years old. Steve’s mom told him “No matter what anybody says, I know you’re innocent, and I love you very much.”. King wanted to have more money so he decided to rob a drugstore and he asked Steve’s and Bobo’s help. Steve saw jerry in the streets and he wanted to tell him that he loved him, that his heart was not greatly rejoicing and that he was not singing praises. Mrs. Henry was in the drugstore one day and she heard someone arguing , then she said Nesbitt came over to see what the argument was about, and she heard one of the men who was involved in the argument say to him ask him where the money was and then one of them grabbed Nesbitt by the collar. One of the people that were in the argument was king. When king and Bobo went in the drugstore they started beef with the dude behind the counter and he pointed a gun at them.
