1) With "that" you never use a comma
2) "who" can be restrictive OR non-restrictive

1) do many simple examples of using only "that" -- then move on using simple examples of "who" and likewise for "which"
2) AFTER the fundamentals are clear, then move on to more complicated examples using "that", "who" and "which"
3) THEN move on to other simple examples
 with new relative pronouns; essentially start again with "1)"
