I'm curious about implenting it.
An example of PBL I implemented this year is: we studied in English one of the 17 objectives of the 2030 Agenda on eco sustainability. We took into consideration the objective about Life On Land. At the end of our path students created a lapbook about an animal at risk of extinction, organizing data, photos, and indicating the causes of their extinction and how we can prevent it. They also had to invent a slogan. They worked in collaboration with a classmate and they finally exposed orally the animal they chose to study. The internet helped them to search for information about those issues. They developed digital competences, civic and social competencex and the competence of "learning to learn".

I work at the centre of non-formal education and my responsibilities are various of events for city schools. I will talk about the project, which I am developing now and which covers all city schools. So, I have created 10 interactive mobile stands based on information about Lithuanian history, language and culture. The project is dedicated to 100th anniversary restoring Lithuania (we are still celebrating it in 2018). The stands consist of a short basic text information, pictures, maps and QR codes. Every week I move these stands from school to school, and keep up them in a well-reaching and good Wi-Fi access space. Teachers of history, geography, native language have access to their lessons. I explain to teachers the main idea behind the provided material. Also, one day in the afternoon, I set the time to organize a quiz at a certain school. Pupis get tasks that are written on a three-colored paper (Lithuanian flag color), and students have to solve them using QR-codes, since all the necessary information is provided by QR codes. Yes, students are smart, and sometimes they try to find an answer using Google, even if QR means "quick response." So, before I accidentally warned them to use QR, otherwice it might not be a good answer for reasons related to the variety of sources. Pupils get 10-15 minutes (depending on age) for individual work. After correct and fastest answers students are rewarded with a special heart-shaped yellow-green-red badge (Lithuanian flag).
As I said, this is the individual work of the students. After the stands will go to all city schools (there are about 30 schools in our city), I hope in November, I will organize a final event for school teams. The event will consist of working with QR codes and a questionnaire program. The 4-member team divides into 2 parts - Part 1 searches for information using QR-codes and sends replies (SMS, Skype, Messenger, etc.) to Part 2. Part 2, having received information from partners, must select and approve the answer using a questionnaire.

As the project summarising and a gift to pupils, I am going to organize a field trip to the Centre of civic education in Vilnius. It is a very inspiring and interactive environment where each part of the exposition invites to think and act and relates to the topics studied at school. In this interesting learning process pupils will have possibility to find answers on the meaning of public spirit and the principles of the functioning of the state.
http://pazinkvalstybe.lt/en/kategorija/25

I haven't used so wide Augmented reality, but I tried it a few times with younger pupils. I would like to learn more about using AR.
I have on my mind to create an event for city students based on Europeana, hope it will happen on October 2018.

I use the Project-Based Learning methodology with my classes quite often.

It is a highly motivating methodology for students but at the same time requires a lot of responsibility from them. My experience shows that Project-Based Learning requires a good planning on defining tasks and on the preparation of the necessary resources. I verify that this PBL promotes collaborative work and develops students' autonomy. It is, as well, important for the development of its critical sense, while being effective in learning. One of the most interesting experiences I’ve done was a project on the the study of the Holocaust in which the PBL proved to be effective not only in terms of academic learning but also in social skills.

I know less about the use of Augmented Reality in classroom although I've already seen some interesting experiments. I hope to learn more about it in this course and use them in the future, both in the classroom context and in my work in the School Library.

I have never used AR in my classroom, but, I have developed a PBL since 2017. As I said many times, I had the opportunity to develop an intercultural project “Citizenship and Costitution” addressed to 23 children of different ages (between 6 and 10 years) who did not attend courses of Catholic Religion in a Primary School (at “the Istituto Comprensivo Mediglia). It included five units, concerning different topics: “the History of the Self”, “Environmental Education”, “Nutritional Education” and “Road Safety Education”.
The content and the degree of detail was calibrated in accordance with children’s age, intercultural and linguistic competence. The majority were from Egypt and Morocco.
Some of them, representing the first generation who was born in Italy, spoke Italian as a second language fluently, others, who moved to Italy over the course of the year, had to start with the basics.
The main question which represented the common ground of the five units was:
“Nowadays, which is the real meaning of Citizenship? What are the conditions that allow us to be Real Italian or even European Citizens?”
They were very complex and very big questions, especially because the possible answers had to be understandable for children of different ages (between 6 and 10 years).
The first key concept that led me through these different units was “the necessity of raising awareness about children’s personal history, about the different environments (physical, social, linguistic) they had the opportunity to experience, about their rights and their duties, about their material and spiritual expectations.
Of course, these aspects offered a lot of connections with the first part of the Italian Constitution, the Declaration of Human Rights, the Declaration of the Right of the Child and, finally, the Declaration of Animal Rights.
The second key concept was “the identification of the social rules required by different contexts (family, school, natural green environment, nutrition, road), and the importance of their respect.
The third key concept was represented by the expression of the main values which can guarantee a pacific coexistence among different people and, maybe, even among different nations: “the fight against any form of racism, the values of diversity, peace, brotherhood, friendship, solidarity, hospitality and intercultural exchange”.
All the children could be involved in different kinds of activities, working alone or in small groups (made of two, three, five students).
They read short texts (photocopies) like poems, extracts, short stories, etc..,
they expressed/wrote their short reflections, they drew many paintings experimenting with different techniques (sometimes using my laptop), they played different kinds of games and they had the opportunity to see many pictures (Internet) and photos (recognising themselves) I could take during the lesson.
All these works were collected in 23 portfolios.

As for Project-Based Learning (PBL), that is a methodoogy I have long come to know.
For the present-future the merging of the two seems promissing. I can see the advantages of bringing them together in the same project.
Namely, in studying History and Heritage, and Art, it is easy to foresee how students would benefit from this approach: more motivation, more diverse learning styles and the outcome of a product with impact.
I would ellicit from students to find the theme of our project, then guide them through research, then find what knowledge/experience they already have of AR features and use that knowledge to help them produce good products with the outcomes of their research (to be reused in school or published for all the community to know).

When we make some outdoor classes and didactic activities with high school pupils at the AVALON Building in the CAMELOT Complex of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Department of the Babes-Bolyai University, they are presented and interact with The PsyTech- Matrix Platform used in Clinical Cognitive Sciences. I am planning to use project-based learning as part of learning communication skills. Students aged 14 or 15 will watch TV news and learn newspapers in order to describe what is important elements of news in different media. In tje classroom they will share this information and thoughts . After that they will be divided into groups, each one will represent different redaction: in newspapers, digital newspaper, TV news, radio .. They will have to investigate what is going on in the school, talk with other students, search for informations. At the end of the week they will present the final products to there peers . They will analyse it and give comments . After that students will improve there news and show it in the library .

I confess I had scarcely heard of Augmented Reality (AR) in education and it seemed to me like something only possible in Sci-Fi.

At the end of the academic year, children always have the chance to do a Project-Based learning. This year we are planning to do a project about natural disasters: Volcanoes. We have chosen this project because they are very worried for the volcano Kilawea in Hawai. We get a lot of information from the media, but they don't undertand a lot of this data. We thought it could be a good chance to do a project about it.
With this projects they improve critical thinking, collaboration and communication.
We divide the class in small groups and they start making questions “where, why, how… Then researching… They must create a poster or a video at the end of the project. It’s always surprising!

Because project-based learning is filled with active and engaged learning, it inspires students to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects they're studying. Research also indicates that students are more likely to retain the knowledge gained through this approach far more readily than through traditional textbook-centered learning. In addition, students develop confidence and self-direction as they move through both team-based and independent work.

In the process of completing their projects, students also hone their organizational and research skills, develop better communication with their peers and adults, and often work within their community while seeing the positive effect of their work.

Project based learning is more beneficial to students as engage them to be involved with different topics of curriculum each time and guide them to combine seemingly differentiated information leading them to deeper knowledge. Augmented reality has certain positive role to this methodology as it helps student to widening their perspective and empathy as built up a virtual framework (world) where students engaged actively to different circumstances.

The PBL is a very interesting pedagogical method to apply in the classrooms because it proposes to reverse the learning process: first it presents the problem and then invites the student to identify what he needs to learn and look for the information to solve it. I have put it into practice and although laborious, the results accompany. Also for students, it is a challenge.
The AR I have used only once and the results were not as satisfactory as expected. Prob- ably the problem was mine in that I did not have enough training. In this we are....

I will try to use it in my next projects with small children.

I have often used Project-Based Learning in my classroom, especially in Festivals projects, such as Christmas, Easter or holidays. From my point of view, teachers should use these kinds of tools (Project-Based Learning and Augmented Reality) in the classroom in order to stimulate our students. Besides, they may maximize their potential and take part in pursuits that they really want to. Obviously, motivation plays a crucial role today and we should take into consideration the number of resources.

At our school we use, for a long time, and in many projects, both PBL as AR. We have projects that involve whole group of schools (eight schools) http://www.esecddinis.pt/. Design, plan and implement projects using and combining PBL and AR has been an asset because, in fact, the students participate too, with enough commitment, and they, many times "lead" learning.

The last project undertaken in our Group got the name “Festival of light in Marvila” which can be seen at the following website: https://luzemmarvila.pt. In this first Festival, which ended last weekend, took place several activities, including a photo contest, and 18 facilities at the headquarters https://luzemmarvila.pt/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/LETTER_ABERTURA_LUZ_MARVILA_PERCURSO.pdf in which I highlight the following: the “Patron of the Group”, “Light in the Pine Forest”, where were placed in the monument light focuses on the Pinhal de Leiria, “The King D. Dinis” built with electronic junk, Video Mapping “Miracle of the Roses”,”Flash Mob”, “Little Big”, among others.

In my school we base learning on the project and augmented reality. At the end of the project the students carry out a reality test. This type of approach develops in students many skills, abilities and knowledge that will then be useful to them in the world of work.

I agree with Jasna from Croatia (our etwinning projects are based on PBL). In this way students can work in teams(discuss, interact, search, help each other, communicate,... to come up with a result / answer on a certain task.

I haven't used so wide Augmented reality, but I tried it a few times with younger pupils. I would like to learn more about using AR.
I have on my mind to create an event for city students based on Europeana, hope it will happen on October 2018.

PBL is very popular in my classes as I strongly believe that this is an excellent way to learn. Children are able to apply their mathematical knowledge to real life situations and then they remember what they have learned much longer. Through eTwinning, Space Awareness, Platon and Erasmus+ there is a wealth of ideas, projects and inspiration. Team building skills, cooperation, critical thinking and collaboration are only a few of the skills the children attain.

thanks to our eTwinning projects we generally use PBL strategies . Starting from a not googleble driving question students try to find solutions to a concrete problem. To achieve a tangible result they have to work in groups and this helps to develop not only technical and practical skills ( working with ITCs) but also behavioral skills such ad empathic thing active listening and respectful approach to team work. we have used augmented reality only one time, this year to create a poster which could summarize a part of our project for the day of open doors at our schools.We worked with AURASMA

I generally use the PBL in my classes. Augmented Reality is new for me.

As a teacher I have used PBL approach. Usually, I ask the students to choose a topic and make a presentation (oral or PPT). My students like this form of learning because they can talk or write about things which they are interested in. Their motivation to learn is higher. In Erasmus and eTwinning projects we use PBL quite often. I’ve never used AR but now, working on Europeana project, I feel inspired and I want to learn more about AR. I’ll definitely try it to make my teaching more attractive.

I often use a PBL approach with my students when I run eTwinning projects. I think that they perfectly work together and enhance pupils' competences.
Moreover, by working with partners from other countries they learn how to interact and negotiate to reach a common goal.
The project's final product is often built together and is something challenging or relevant for them.
An example of an activity is the following: after discussing, investigating and analizying some "Manifestoes" from the Vanguard period, pupils had to create a common Manifesto explaining their thoughts about their present and future life.

As for AR, i've actually gave up on it about four years ago. QR code or marker tools (like aurasma) to display AR information in the form of text/image/video are cool, but I'm focused on 3D modeling and at the time none of the main android apps had a usable interface to display 3D content. Except Augment, and i've done a few projects with AR and 3D in... 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItuFZSgMT64

PBL is a structural component of my teaching methods since before the term came into general use. as an arts teacher, we use a method called problem solving, an iterative cycle that starts with a question/problem. now, teaching ICT, i still use a version of this method, more directed due to time constraints.

PBL is very motivating for pupils as they participate actively working on non-googleable questions, investigating, solving problems, collaborating, presenting outcomes... . It helps students develop 21st c skills. As for AR, I don't know much about so I need to get informed.

A couple of months ago, South pole was for the first time conquered by a Croat - Davor Rostuhar, a writer and a photographer, set on a solitary journey to the South pole dragging everything he needed on a sleigh (at the starting point, it had over 100 kg). Our geography teacher, Vesna Androić Hanžić, gathered a group of students that read his blog, answered geography quizzes and did research about Antarctica while Davor Rostuhar was travelling. Soon, other professors joined in and we made an interdisciplinary project with our students, called "Antarctica: the Polar Dream". We combined geography with art in making a model of Antarctica, then added some physics (polar light), a bit of biology (animals living on the shores and in the sea) and some history (the history of conquering the South pole). To wrap it up, our students translated everything into English under the guidance of our English teacher.
We are very proud to say that, when he returned, Davor Rostuhar visited our school and was very thrilled and moved by what we made together.
Have a look at this final photo and judge for yourself, if those several months of our work were worth it!
P. S. Try to guess who the teachers are! (There are four of us on the photo)

I use PBL in my classroom. The last time I've adopted this method was during a German civilization lesson about the role of women in the DDR. The students have found various resources about the topic and then tehy have discoussed how women's role in the DDR was really important. Personally I think that this method is good because it connects students with the real worls and encourages them to be more engaged and to learn actively.
Normally I don't use AR method but I think that this method too could be a good learning strategy.

In the past I have implemented didactics based on project-based learning.
I think it is a highly inclusive didactics, as all the students take an active role; they must take responsibility, not only towards themselves but also towards their companions; they work together to reach an end, each according to their abilities; integrate theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge; they must find solutions to practical problems. All this with the guidance of the teacher-tutor, but with great autonomy of choice and work.
it is a methodology also applicable to primary school, with surprising results.

Project-based learning and augmented reality with Europeana
I use Learning with scenarios, a kind of Project Based Learning that I experimented by participating in the iTEC pilots with European Schoolnet. In my Scenarios, I used augmented reality with my classes.
In detail, I asked my students to study a work of art or architecture, analyzing it in depth to research its historical and geographical origins and derivations. For example, the Duomo of Syracuse, a Christian church, derives from a Greek temple. Students must first look for the traces of the modification, then they must study the culture of origin and finally, in augmented reality, they must reconstruct the original models and shapes to be able to show them with immersive browsers and viewer. Now, as a policy maker, I leadother teachers in this direction.

I think PBL give many tools to share and make interesting school lessons to our students:
PBL is an effective and fun way to learn;
PBL makes the school more engaging for students ;
PBL enhances learning ;
PBL builds success skills ;
PBL provides opportunities for students to use technology ;
With PBL students solve real problems ;

I used PBL in project about nutrition, health, statistics and designing. Students performed survey about how people find menus in restoraunts , and would their perception oh healthy meal change if we put by every meal how much calories it consists of. They had a task to design their own menu on their belief that it would "suggest" people to choose healthier food.

My work revealed that the majority of articles on project-based learning are course descriptions focusing on the implementation of individual courses, whereas serious research on the topic is virtually non-existent. In addition, the term project-based learning subsumes different activities with varying purposes.
