Ali was weirded out by the man and thought he was a serial killer. Ali instantly dashed and went to home in lightning speed. The next day, he felt something different about himself. He didn’t care about it at the time and proceeded to continue the day. While in school, he realised that no one could saw him. He came to a conclusion that he possessed invisibility powers. At first, he was terrified about the power. Soon, he could control the powers at any time he wants.

Ali thought about doing many useful and beneficial things with the power such as putting an end to bullies. But at the same time, he also thought about bad deeds. His desire for malicious things took over and he soon committed many nasty stuff. He skipped school, stole money from his parents and also murdered anyone who he once hated.

Ali’s reign of terror came to an end when he was scheming to murder his classmate, Abu. When it was time for him to execute the plan, he has forgotten that his power was coming to an end. His power only had a 31 day limit but Ali was careless. When he killed abu, everyone in the class saw him. Even the teacher was in the scene. Ali was bugged out why everyone could see him. Finally, he remembered the strange mans’ quote. Ali realised his actions but it was already done. Everyone saw him commit the murder. Somebody already informed the authorities about the accident. Ali was given to the hands of the police and was sentenced to life in prison. Ali regretted everything and wished to turn back time to change the mistake.

  

Bewildered, he looked back behind him. He saw nobody nor was he in the cave nor in the woods. He saw himself laying on the floor of his room. He then realized that he was actually dreaming and slipped off his bed and hit the floor. It was foolish to think that he would see his mother again since he himself witnessed his mother get mauled by a tiger when he was but a little child. Heartbroken, he just sat there on the floor and wept.

When we got there everything felt wrong. We'd been on the road for days and seen many rest stops at night and had never been afraid until then. My mom and brother went inside and I stayed in the car. I heard the teenagers say they were creeped out and couldn't get the pump to work, and they left in a hurry. I was watching the car in front of us, and the two men had not moved at all. Not an inch. They weren't talking. They weren't on phones. They were just standing there, still as stone.

My brother and mom came running back out to the car and when they got in, the two men slowly turned to look at us while not moving or pivoting the rest of their bodies, and I swear to fucking shit, we all saw the same thing - they had eyes dark as pitch and empty. Truly empty. Not black, not reflecting any light at all, just a void.

We sped out of there and didn’t stop until we were in the next city. The worst thing about the entire experience? We couldn't find the place on any map. We knew exactly which spot on the interstate to look, and we couldn't find it on Google maps or any paper map we had. We even asked locals about the creepy gas station out on that stretch of road and got only confused looks. We've traveled on that interstate since, and there is no rest stop.

But I got told the secrets early thanks to Lily. Fennex Organization has stopped many terrible disasters from happening and contains entities that you can’t even begin to imagine. Some cute and cuddly, and some terrifying and monstrous. But the thing that fascinates me the most are the anomalous objects, some like a mask that talks, a teapot with endless amounts of British tea, and some others that Lily won’t talk about. This lab currently holds the most dangerous of these anomalies among the other labs, making it a target to our rival, the Clockwork Foundation. If you consider the Fennex Organization as good guys, which is debatable, you would consider these guys to be the evil version of us. They plan to “Purge humanity from its sins” by killing the entire population using the anomalies the Fennex Organization contains. The last time they attacked us it didn’t go well for both of us, many killed and billions of dollars in damage.

It was lunch time, the only time where low ranks like me can go inside the massive labs building and have a chat with the researchers. Fortunately, the cafeteria food is good unlike what I had in school and is paid by Fennex. I took my usual seat and met Lily who was waiting for me. She had long blond hair and sparkling green eyes with smooth skin, much in contrast with me, uncombed dark hair, and a depressing look on my face as if I hadn’t slept in ages. “You look gloomy as always, Mr. Security Guy” said Lily with a grin on her face. She’s always the mischievous and sly type, trying to poke fun at me at any chance she got. Even with that, she was always fun to have around, extremely talkative and kind. Whenever you got into a conversation with her, she would go on for who knows how long, getting her to stop would be no ordinary feat. “Have you guys found anything new?” I asked. Lily, slightly annoyed I brushed off her insult and said “Nothing interesting really.” with a slightly bored tone. Lily probably didn’t discover anything remotely interesting in a while. It's common knowledge here that you shouldn’t press her for more when she’s like this, she gets angry easily at this state and I almost lost my friendship with her like this.

That's when I heard it, an explosion as if it was right next to me. Everyone was in a panic, running to the nearest exit. I was knocked to the ground and all I could hear was a high pitched ringing in my ear. Lily was ushering me to get up and “Andy, get up!” was all I could hear from her. The ringing in my ear finally receded and I sat up trying to compose myself. Lily was trying to bring me to a safe place, but I knew better that if I did, I would be accused of abandoning my responsibility. “GET UP MEN!! STAND UP AND FIGHT THEM” yelled Chief Officer Sam Yugoslav, he was almost as loud as the explosion itself I thought to myself. I pried Lily of me and told her to follow the others and get to safety. She hesitated but eventually obeyed me. Slightly in panic I grabbed my gun and went to cover. The air was filled with the cracks of gunshots and on the ground were dead bodies strewn across the floor, blood spilling out of them.“Don’t think about it, there was nothing you could have done” I thought to myself, trying to not feel guilty. “Come on, let's kill these bastards!” shouted Otto ‘Chad’ Wolffe in a German accent, while shooting at the Clockwork’s soldiers. I followed suit, taking aim at the soldiers in black and red uniforms, filled with determination to stop them from entering. Stop them from reaching Lily.

Minutes that felt like hours and hours that felt like days had passed just like my friends had passed right in front of me. I shut my eyes, wished this was all a dream, that I’d wake up and see them alive and well, their faces smiling and laughing just like they always have. But reality is harsh and when I opened my eyes I saw their emotionless faces and motionless bodies. We’ve managed to hold them back, just for a little while. I wanted to rest, my arms sore from the weight of my gun, my head aching from the chaos that unfolded.  But rest would be a gift right now, as bullets came by my head. They’ve let hell on us again. They were pushing us into the hallway. We could not let them reach the lab, who knows what they would do with the research and the anomalies. We needed the help of the other labs, I heard elite forces were on their way. They were getting close to the bunker, to where everyone except us had hidden and where we kept all the anomalies. Suddenly, everything was dark, the power must have been shut off. It took me a while to get used to the darkness, but it was too late, the Clockwork’s soldiers opened fire and killed most of us, they must’ve planned this. I felt searing pain in my right thigh, I instantly fell to the ground. I thought this is my end, l my entire life ended, just like this. I thought of how Lily would feel if she saw me dead, if she wasn’t killed before she saw me. I felt a rush of emotions, giving me motivation. “What’s the point?” I said to myself, “It's already the end, there's nothing left I can do,”. I shut my eyes.

Muffled voices, crying, machinery, why was I hearing this? I should be dead already, I’m even hallucinating. I felt a brush of cold air hit me, as if I was in an air conditioned room. “Is this what death felt like?” I wondered. I tried to open my eyes, they felt heavy but I got them opened. A bright light entered my vision. I was miraculously still alive. I looked around, I was in a hospital. The sound of a door opened, and a voice said “So you’re finally awake”. I cast my gaze to the sound, it was a doctor I had known, Sylvie, she was from the lab I worked at. “What happened?” I asked, surprised by my hoarse voice. “The elite forces, Sigma 09 came and extricated us and found you alive, somehow,” said Sylvie calmly “They also blew up the entire place”. “Who else was alive,” I asked, worried. “113 of the security were found alive out of the 5,390 and all the researchers are alive but some injured”. I let out a sigh of relief. “Oh, and you have a visitor, Andy,” said Sylvie. Lily came into the room, eyes shining from the tears she must’ve let out. She ran to hug me “You better not make me worried again, Mr. Security Guy” she said, softly. That was the first time I saw her weak side. Grinning, I fell asleep to the warmth of her hug and the rhythm of her heart beat.

The End

The ending is a bit rushed and I wanted to do more but alas, I can't. I also suck at dialogue
