proclamation of 1763

These acts were to make the colonists pay for the tea and keep the colonists from planning other attacks. this act did not allow the colonists to have other meetings and strengthened the quartering act. It also stopped all trade between Boston and Britain and gave Britain the control of the colony of massachusetts.

Lexington and Concord 1775

A war that started in Concord. A shot rang off in Concord then the war had begun they went then to Lexington. the minutemen started with 75 then they went to 2000 men fighting the minute men were not as trained as the british but they beat them.

Winter at valley forge was very hard for George Washington and his men. Some had died and some had surrendered. they lacked supplies. They had flimsy tents that barely kept the brittle wind out. while 25 miles away in philadelphia british were staying warm.

Battle at Yorktown 1781

There were three main disagreements they were Representation, Counting of population and Slave Trade. Representation: Within thirteen states, there was a disagreement over how each state should be represented in congress.Counting of population:there was a large population in slaves especially in the Southern States. Southern wanted the slaves to be counted but Northern didn't. So they made the three fifths compromise with is where three out of five slaves would count as population. Slave trade: there was great debate at the convention as to whether the United States should allow the slave trade to continue.

Louisiana Purchase 1803

Thomas Jefferson sent Robert livingston and James Monroe to ask the french leader, Napoleon, to sell part of Louisiana,including new orleans for $10 million for 800,000 square miles of land. Napoleon needed the money for the two wars he was fighting. So he sold it for $15 million on april 30 1803 united states agreed, the huge territory, reaching from the Mississippi west to the rocky mountains and from new orleans north to canada.

Lewis and Clark journey 1804

in 1804 T. jefferson formed a group to go to a land he just bought. He called it the corps of discovery. Lewis and Clark left in may for the unknown expedition. There goal was to map and document there journey. On the way they met an important native american named sacagawea.For she could speak 3 languages. The journey took 3 years to complete. they found 200 new plants and animals.

Indian Removal Act 1830

The Indian Removal Act was signed into law by President Andrew Jackson on May 28, 1830, authorizing the president to grant lands west of the Mississippi in exchange for Indian lands within existing state borders. They made them leave witch led to the trail of tears.

Trail of tears 1831-1850

The trail of tears was a sad time and it all started when three rebellious tribe members signed a contract agreeing they can be kicked out. So they had to walk from georgia to Arkansas it was very harsh and many people died.
