Assalamualaikum and hi, my name is Nurul Syahida Farhana Binti Ibrahim. You can call me Syahida. I'm from Kuala Nerus, Terengganu. I am a hospitality student. I take this subject because it is one of compulsory subject for student 3u1i from hospitality department. One thing I want to learn for the next three months to advance my career opportunities or business is communication skills. Since I'm a hospitality student, communicate is one of the importance things to succeed in the hospitality industry but since I'm introvert, I have lack of communication skills. That's why I really hope I'll improve my communication skills because next semester I'll go intern in the hospitality industry for 1 year. When I have communication skills it'll be easier for me to apply for works or doing business and its can boost my confidence also. Hence, I can work comfortably and without any concern if I even placed in front of house.

What were some of the most significant things you learned about self-awareness in this class? Write your thoughts in 100 words in your digital journal.

The most significant things I learned about self-awareness in this class is
self-consciousness.
Sometimes, people can become overly self-aware and swerve into what is known as self-consciousness. This heightened state of self-awareness can leave feeling awkward and nervous in some instances.
In a lot of cases, these feelings of self-consciousness are only temporary and arise in situations when we are "in the spotlight". However, for some people excessive self-consciousness can reflect a chronic condition such as social anxiety disorder. These people tend to be more aware of their feelings and beliefs, and are therefore more likely to stick to their personal values. However, they are also more likely to suffer from negative health consequences such as increased stress and anxiety.

First, I am a fast learner. Being a fast learner helps me take on tasks quicker than most people. When I am learning a new topic it always helps me to understood the topic with ease. I believe I am more into physical practice learner than an auditory learner. For example, I could remember the steps of housekeeping in room division quickly after the demonstrate than listening to a lecture. Learning something quick has always been my strongest trait and has allowed me to take more in and understand what the task is. Next, I am a calm person. My friends often tell me I look calm and laid-back , that I always seem like relaxing as if nothing bothers me even though there's a lot of assignments need to finish . But deep down in my head, only God knows what I'm thinking. It's a lie if I says I'm not panic when deadlines are close but I'm telling myself to stay calm to avoid extreme stress. Instead, I do my works in private with my own pace and at least early two or three days before deadlines. I'm not really normalize doing last minute work because it's only give me headache at the end unless I have to. Lastly, I am self-motivated. There are a lot of quotes I always use as motivation but the most effective one is "Effort never betrays you". I know with the effort that I make in studying and finishing assignments, it will repay me someday. Effort teaches us that we can do more than we thought. We learn new skills and abilities when we take the time to put in consistent effort. Every new success that we achieve through our efforts increases our confidence in ourselves and our abilities. Effort keeps us focused on success.

The name of the video

- Navy SEAL Explains How to Build Mental Toughness – David Goggins

Link of the video

- https://youtu.be/Lot2Bxo-GSg

The name of the speaker

- David Goggins

Speaker's experience/qualifications

- The speaker said “no one is here to help me”. He felt horrible, keep going nowhere and a kid that was scared. However, he said the best thing that happened to him is no one helped him. What he realized is for he to become the man that he wanted to become he saw himself as the weakest person God ever created but he never blamed God for anything He did to him instead he wanted to change that to be the hardest man God ever created. He doesn’t know but he had a goal. He is not going to school, being bullied, being having no self-esteem but his goal was the only person that’s got to turn this person around is himself. He can turn around by putting himself through the worst things possible a human being can ever endure. He lied for people to accept him, everything he did was for someone else to like him. He said he could put a blame on anybody, but he doesn’t. The only way to became successful was going towards the truth as painful and as brutal as it is it changed him. He also said he hates the job as Navy SEAL but he did it because he wanted to change himself. Everything he do, he is not really comfortable doing it but the only way to get to the other side of the journey is he have got to suffer to grow.

One (1) paragraph describing the video content (what it was about, who was it targeted etc.)

- The video content is about a Navy SEAL telling his story about how his life was before he became successful and sharing some advice on how to build mental toughness. This video is very suitable for people who want to improve their mental toughness and struggling their life. Its very well delivered based on speaker own’s true story.

One (1) paragraph personal reaction to the video (was it valuable to you? Which part of his/her talk do you remember the best? How that affect you?)

- From my personal reaction to the video, part that he talked that I remember the best is when the speaker said he need to do the things that he hates to only find the greatness at the end. For example, he hates running but he still does it. He said he was not training for race, he’s training for a life to the point where his mom was dead, he doesn’t fall apart. He training his body, mind, and spirit to all become one, so that he can handle what life is going to thought at him. Because for him, the life that he lives thought him a bunch of actions. He also said that If we mentally and physically not prepare for that, we going to crumble.
