Meet the Teacher (Mrs. Bahm) by Erin Bahm

Please write down any question you may have regarding your child's current school year and I will respond prior to Meet the Teacher Night. Many parents may have the same questions regarding assessments, studying, homework, etc. This can be a tool where everyone will be receiving the same information directly from me. I look forward to meeting you.

Please send Mrs. Bahm a Remind Message or write in the agenda to schedule a meeting you may like to have. During Meet the Teacher night; your child will have a checklist of items to show you.
Question

How much time should the children be spending on any homework questions on average per night or weekly at this level

Great Question; the rule of thumb is # of minutes is equivalent to grade level per night
Grade 2= 20mins
Grade 3=30mins
etc.
I, myself do not assign weekly homework; however students may have homework in other subjects. I will give out a Word Problem at the beginning of the week that will be due by the end. Any other work sent home would be work not completed in class; which hopefully does not happen often. Students will be expected to study for tests/multiplication facts; but as far as Math and Language are concerned; there is not set schedule for homework. Sometimes I may feel students need to have extra practice but I will alert the child and parent of this. Hope this helps.
