Check out Dr. Gary Daniel's Youtube Channel, choose a video that relates to the topic of conflict management and resolution, and remix it to include some interesting reflections upon the topic discussed and some references to personal anecdotes. Here is one video that I remixed myself to get the ball rolling. Notice that this is merely a PERSONAL opinion and interpretation, and please take the time to check out the original video so that you can take in all of Dr. Daniel's insights. Make sure that you license your production to make it an open resource and upload it to this Padlet.

My video has modified and remixed "How to Avoid Conflict and Arguing", by Dr. Gary Daniel, licensed under CC BY.

Creating a timeline to account for conflict resolution across the history of humankind.

It is always interesting to reflect upon conflict as an aspect which is as natural and ingrained in human nature as eating is, but which, paradoxically, can to a certain extent be deemed as a challenge to civilised or rational behaviour. How have human beings tackled the issue of conflict resolution throughout history? Use the following image as a starting point to create a timeline where you trace the development of conflict resolution. Assign tentative dates and comment on the validity of different conflict-solving strategies and stratagems along time. You can also voice your views in terms of which strategies or styles have been the most effective, reasonable and civilised.

You can use Canva or another open resource to create your infographic timeline. Make sure that you license your production to make it an open resource and upload it to this Padlet.

"Conflict resolution in human evolution" by Asachs (Own work) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons.

The following open resource, entitled Conflict resolution in the family ;-) presents an interesting metaphor postulating archetypical characters or roles which display different conflict resolution styles, and which seem to correspond to the profiles of typical family members. Refer to a conflict you have personally been involved in, provide as many interesting details as possible, and identify the presence of at least three of these archetypes, including yourself. You may want to add any other characters you pinpointed, and expand on the metaphor of the family!

Srinivas, Hari, "Conflict resolution in the family". GDRC Reseaarch Output E-046.
