Personal reflection

For this box, I chose the prompt of telling myself something a year ago to today. I chose this, because there are so many things that I wish I would have done, or should’ve known better. First, I wish I had more dedication. This counts for all things in my life. School, sports, and even working out. I wish I payed attention and studied harder in school. I know my freshman year is going to be hard, so I actually need to study and focus on my schoolwork. I also would’ve liked to have more dedication in sports. Recently, sports has been my everything and I don’t ever want to lose it. I need to work harder in sports, to secure that dream. I also need to have a better mentality in working out. Working out is a privilege that I have and not a hobby. I should appreciate every moment I have, and have a responsibility to hold myself to it. Second, I should be smarter with my actions. Not to say stupid things, and live by the principle, “If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it.” These are some of the things that I would tell myself a year ago.

For this box, I chose the prompt how has my life changed in the past two years. I feel that at the age of 14, most children grow up a little bit. By grow up, I mean mature a little bit. Every kid wants to be a kid forever, until the famous words come out of their mouth, “I want to be a grown-up!” These words are usually said but never meant, as almost every kid has said it, especially me. Recently, I’ve had a lot of maturing to do, as I need to act more, “My age.” Or what society has decided would be appropriate for how a 14 year old to act. I’m not against these ideals, as I agree with them as well. In short, in the past two years I’ve had to mature a great deal. As the world around me is changing and I’m becoming a man. I had my Bar’Mitzvah last year and it is the coming of age ceremony for a boy to turn into a man. This shows that im growing up fast, and I need to grow up. My life has changed in many ways, but that is why we as humans adapt to our surroundings, and cope with the changes.

I asked my dad how he felt with apple coming out with a “new” phone every year

Q: do you feel that the IPhone design has been getting unoriginal and repetitive?

A: I feel that there is no point in coming out with new phones every year. They still don't work, and apple keeps them the same. It is basically a waste of money and time.

Q: Do other companies benefit from apple making new phones for people to buy?

A: Apple coming out with new phones boosts their revenue, but leaves smaller phone companies stranded with no money or customers.

For this interview, we talked about the age limit for driving

Q: What is the ideal age for teens to be driving

A: I feel that it’s ok for teens to get their permit at 15, but they should not get their license until they are 18. This makes teens learn how to drive better before being able to be on the road by themselves.

Q: Should all students have to take an in person permit test?

A: Yes, I think all people should take an in person test, because most students cheat on the exam. This causes a hazard on the road for everyone, as there are people on the road who don’t know how to drive nor do they know the rules.
