He was suprised because nobody ever had anything like that and his first tought was that it must be a note from his parents. A note they had sent to signal that they will be arriving soon and bring Felix back home. The thing is that Felix doesn't know what really goes on. He doesn.t know that it's a world war going on and that his parents may be in danger because of the holocaust.
