The limitations were that there was a small number of people, cultures are subsistence so results don't generalize to other cultures.

Research done by Barry and Kats aimed to investigate whether the individualism scores of the Eskimos and the Tenme are correlated with behavior. The Eskimo culture hunt and fish for the individual, whereas the Tenme culture shares rice that is farmed. It was found that Eskimos, more individualistic of a culture, did not conform to the members of their group. On the other hand, the Tenme culture, a more collectivist culture, were more likely to conform to their group's answers. Therefore, it is concluded that the Tenme people have a high tendency to suggest a suggestion whereas the Eskimo people disregarded the decision.

PDI is power distance index that measures the extent to which a culture is accepting of an uneven distribution of power among members of the group. When a culture scores high, it suggests that they are more tolerant of inequalities and tend to be more hierarchical. While scoring low suggests that inequality is not tolerated without justification thus they prefer a more equal distribution of power.

The aim of this experiment was to investigate whether individualism scores of Eskimos and Tenme are correlated with conformity. After being measured on their degree of conformity, it was found the Tenme have a high tendency to accept the suggestion as the correct answer. Seeing as they ranked higher on their collectivism, this result is expected because they are all farmers
