Ms. Bulmer,

I wanted to thank you for all the effort you put into us this semester with Grade 11 Math (MCR3U). I really enjoyed this semester with you, and it would be an absolute pleasure to be your student again. Unfortunately, that won't really happen again. I just wanted to let you know, that although you won't be teaching me again, I'll forever be your student. You have truly inspired me to become a mathematician just like you! I hope that you're happy with your decision to retire. You truly deserve a break, after 31 years of teaching at the VLC. Although it's sad that you're leaving, I'm also happy to know that you can take a break from all this.
I will miss all the jokes we shared together. Every time I read a math joke I can hear your voice echoing in the background. Perhaps every time I read a funny math joke, I'll have to send it to you xD.

Ever since the first day you told us that you're retiring from the VLC, I thought it must be April fools, but when I looked at my calendar it was May. I almost searched Google to see if there was such a thing called May fools. (I really hope there was) Now I'm wondering is there June Fools? I suppose I'll have to face it when you don't come back next semester.

In short, I wanted to thank you for all that you did for us. You truly made me the student I am today. I plan to work harder now and tomorrow because you inspired me that with dedication and hard work will come success.

I hope you the best in the future!
P.S. A little joke never hurt

Q. "Why did the boy eat his math homework?"
A. "Because the teacher told him it was a piece of cake."

Thank you very much for making this a great semester. I really appreciated how patient and calm you were when teaching us new concepts. Math is not always an easy subject and can sometimes, be frustrating to learn. Despite this, you always answered all our questions with very clear answers.

Even though we're sad to hear your leaving the VLC, we wish you all the best!

Sincerely,
- Savannah D :)

Dear Mrs. Bulmer,
Thank you so much for a wonderful semester of math. You indeed helped us a lot with our learning and made the concepts easier to understand. We appreciate that you were always willing to negotiate and give time to students when either late assignments needed to be handed in or in other cases, assignments were locked up - there are other teachers that don't have mercy like that. So once again we highly appreciate your teaching and encouragments during this course and a big thank you goes out for that - as an aside and encouragment, my brother also enjoyed your teaching as well.

I know it is sad that you will be leaving the VLC, but you did put in 31 years of diligence in mathematics and so you deserve a break. So I wish you all the best in the future of your life.

Sincerely,
David C :)

Here are a few humorous math jokes.
1. What happened to the plant in math class? A: It grew square roots.
2. Why didn’t the quarter roll down the hill with the nickel? A: Because it had more cents.
3. How do you make seven an even number? A: Take the s out!
4. Why wasn’t the geometry teacher at school? A: Because she sprained her angle!!
5. Why did the man turn out to be the greatest mathematician? A: His parents gave him lots of formula to digest when he was young!!

I met you for the first time this semester, and I'm glad I did because this was so much fun with you! I don't know what I'm going to do without you next year in Advanced Functions because you made it so easy to enjoy and listen in on the math. It's sad that your leaving VLC, but I wish you all the best when you leave, I hope you have a life full of hope and excitement! :)
This is a joke that I have always wondered when doing math:

Dear Mrs. Bulmer,

I would like to take a moment to show my gratitude towards your amazing teaching throughout the Semester!

You taught all the concepts of the course so nicely, and made Live Classes interactive and enjoyable, thus making Math much easier to complete. You always stayed patient with us, even when we did not understand the material, and you were always willing to help - even outside of regular hours. You answered all of our questions despite the fact that Math can be a difficult subject for students to grasp. You made Math fun!

I really wish you could be with the VLC for longer, and I could, once again, have the honour to be in your class. Even so, you really deserve your time off after 31 years of helping students soar to great heights. As a student who has experienced the wonder known as your teaching, I can say that I am sure all of the students who you have taught (including me) are much more confident in their Math Skills now, and many of your students must have gone on to become successful in their futures with / after Post-Secondary in relation to Math and other related fields. Be very proud of yourself!!!

I absolutely appreciate, from the bottom of my heart, everything you have done for me for the two courses I have had with you (MPM2D and MCR3U)! You have worked very hard for everyone - thank you so much! I truly hope that you enjoy your time off from school and work! I also hope your future holds great prosperity for you! Have an amazing time! All the best!

~ Zuha
:)

* One last joke of the year *
