We have kids going to SpEd, Rti math, Rti reading, speech, and LGI for work with aides.   I totally understand the reasoning behind this, however, it takes a ton of time to lock and relock.  IF we would have an actual LOCK DOWN, I would have to open my door anyway, look out into the hallway to check for kids in the hallway, then relock my door.

The office doors are unlocked, but can be locked with the flip of a switch if Jeri or Lori would feel someone got in that was a danger.

It takes a while to go outside the room and get both of the doors locked. I am close to two entrances and I'm not sure I would have time to lock both in a real emergency, with someone coming down that hall. However, I don't think keeping the doors locked all the time is the solution. Locked doors is creating an environment that students are not welcome in my room when I'm teaching. I have students from all grades coming in and out during the day to work.
