I chose it because I have a background in science and enjoy working with students in this age group.  This topic affords many opportunities for hands-on activities, which makes for engaging and interesting lessons.

I can compare fossils to present-day organisms.

Language Objective:
I can construct a Venn diagram to show how fossils and present-day organisms are similar and different.
