Culture runs deeper than just the traditions, cuisine, melodies, or vernacular we often associate with it. Think of it as the unseen operating system of our species. Much like the software humming beneath your phone's display, culture subtly molds our perceptions of what's normal, desirable, or even attainable. It's not merely about our actions, but rather the very lens through which we perceive reality. Without culture, human existence would lack meaning; a tree transforms from mere wood into something "sacred," "a resource," or "a playground."

Language, far from being a mere communication tool, serves as a technology for thought. Our words don't just depict the world; they actively shape it. Consider languages with multiple terms for "snow" or "love," influencing how individuals experience these concepts. In this sense, language acts as an augmented reality headset, overlaying categories and values onto raw experience. It's not just about communication, but about how we collectively bring reality into being.

Culture and language serve as the threads of our collective imagination. They enable humans to coordinate beyond the limitations of biology, facilitating the creation of concepts like "money," "justice," or "God," which, though intangible, govern our lives. Moreover, they preserve the narratives that ensure societal survival across generations, preventing each from starting anew. Thus, our concern for culture and language transcends academic interest; it's a matter of survival. If culture is our shared operating system, then language is the coding language we employ to write updates.

Language is a form of communication. There's many forms of communication, for example, sign language, ebonics, code-switching and cultural language.

The reason that we should care about language and culture is because it builds character. Additionally, there's a lot more people in America that are bilingual now, there, it's becoming imperative to learn about other cultures and languages so that you're able to resonate and communicate with others to a certain extent.

Culture is one of the many ways our values are defined as humans, and we are part of many cultures throughout our lives. Some cultures are inherited based on our birthplace, family traditions, or community norms, while others are chosen through our professions, religions, and relationships. Regardless of whether a culture is given or selected, each contributes to shaping the values we hold dear. Culture acts like a compass, guiding our behaviors, beliefs, and interactions with others. Culture is not static, it evolves as we grow, adapt, and encounter new experiences. If culture were a canvas, our values would be the brushstrokes, painting a portrait of who we are and how we connect with the world.

Language is more than just words on a page or tongue, it’s the heartbeat of human connection. It allows us to express ideas, emotions, and beliefs, forming the foundation of how we understand and shape our culture. Language is pivotal in defining our values, as it gives voice to the principles and traditions we live by. Dialects, accents, and idioms often reveal where someone comes from, offering a glimpse into their cultural background. Though we may adopt new languages or ways of speaking, the ones we grow up with often leave lasting imprints on our identity. If language were music, culture would be the lyrics, together creating a song that tells the story of our lives.

Culture is the evolving lifestyle and practice a group uses to make life workable and meaningful: practices, values, tools, stories, rituals, and habits. Culture is something we can fall on when we are lost within ourselves, it's like an outline of who the people we are and are related to, to an extent.

Language is a living system of signs—spoken, signed, written, visual, even silent—that people use to coordinate attention, build shared memory, and get things done together. Language is such a necessity in the world that the world would not function if no one could understand each other. This is why many area groups share the same language, so they can grow and make their area more productive.

The main reasons that we care are that it is what builds society and gives everyone a background, not just on how they act, but also gives details about their ancestry and genetic habits. Language is culture’s update mechanism; culture is the context that makes language intelligible

Culture is extremely important in a growing and changing world, Understanding where something came from is very important. In the video it says there's about 300 different languages spoke in the U.S. and all religions are practiced here. it is important that America stay diverse and welcome every cultures so that we can all share how different cultures operate as well as the values that they bring, for example Mexico culture revolves around religion and family, cultures dont only affect us with languages and religion but also important things that we wouldn't have if it weren't for other countries foods and values such as rice, pizza, or soybeans.

Language is a way of communicating to another living thing and it has very old roots language is a major necessity in this growing world but language is more than just words it can be interpreted in hundreds of ways, Dialects are a form language where you talk a certain way depending on your living area, the people you spend most of your time with is who you will end up sounding like. Dialects are important to your cultural identity and history. Theres are over a 100 different dialects in America alone.

Culture is used to describe the different communities across the world. Food, customs, way of speaking, music, clothes, and behavior are all apart of culture. It can be influenced by the climate, past events, new inventions, and social media. For example, it is normal to wear a big fur coat in a country that has a cold climate like northern Russia, but you wouldn't see anyone wearing that in Brazil. There can even be subcultures within a culture. What is normal on the west side of the United States might not be considered normal on the east side. Culture itself is very layered and complex.

Language refers to communication between someone or something. It is used to express and exchange thoughts and opinions. That being said, not everyone can understand each other because of the existence of different languages. But one could always learn more than one language to be able to communicate with others around the world.

We care about culture and language because it connects all of us to one another. It gives us a deeper understanding of each other's way of life and be considerate to everyone across the world.

Culture is the shared way of life of a group of people. The way they go about their belief systems, their values, their behaviors and social norms all contribute to the way they live and interact with others. Culture is subjective and constantly changing, traits and customs all passed down through generations build up culture and create the different groups. From languages to music and art, all these play a key role in culture. On the other hand, language is the way humans communicate with each other around the world. language is the way humans connect their thoughts, and it also plays a big part in preserving culture. A language can be the same, but the dialects are different. People in Spain and Mexico speak Spanish, but the grammar, the accents, and the vocabulary differs in response to the people and cultures.

The word “culture” has the unique ability to mean an infinite number of definitions depending on who you ask, when you ask, and where you ask. Scholarly and socially speaking, culture is the shared values, symbols, and beliefs shared by a group of people. Culture consists of material things such as clothing, food, and art. Culture also consists of immaterial things such as music, language, customs, and religion. There are not many words I can think of that scholars debate the definition of to the extent that the word “culture” does. Culture to me means a unique set of shared links that connect a group of people that, to put simply, can’t be replicated or stripped away. 

The word language is a system of communication used by a group of people. The system of communication comes in various forms, such as spoken, written, or signed. Similar to culture, there is also an infinite number of systems through which language is communicated. Language has a strong and vital ability to preserve culture from generation to generation. Language to me is the bridge between an individual’s brain to another's. Teachers can educate others through the use of language, whether it be verbally in a Kennesaw lecture hall or written in D2L for online learners like me. Language and culture are undeniably connected and make each other stronger.

Culture is a set of lifestyles, traditions, and customs that have been developed and passed down through many generations. It can include ways people gather, forms of greetings, or everyday habits that people get accustomed to. Food is another important aspect of culture, with each community developing its own unique foods. Language is a way for people to communicate with one another. Different parts of the world speak different languages. Language helps distinguish different regions of the world. Societies care about language and culture because they are central to how we identify ourselves. They shape our sense of belonging and connection to a community or region.

Culture is the deepest background and thing to define what we do, why we do it, and who we are. Culture can be something so simple like how some families celebrate Christmas with Santa clause and watching Christmas lights while others may not believe in it at all. Culture is so important because as time goes by it diffuses and merges together.

The language we speak is just as important. How we communicate how we feel has changed drastically. Phrases have gone from "How do you do" to "Wassup twin". And so many people these days merge languages together. Like how those that speak Spanish and English combine the language and use a little bit of both while they speak.

2) Languages to me is a form of communication. It comes in all different forms. It can be communicated through your hands, your voice, and even sound (Morse code) ! Language is how a person understands another person whether it is in the same or different language. Language is created through location and culture and changes as time progresses in form of “Slang” such as in English ‘you all” over time became “Y’all’ because of the south. In Spanish “Estoy pedo” is slang for “I’m drunk” but the literal meaning in proper Spanish is “I’m fart”… Progression of language is fascinating really!

1. In my opinion culture, is something that people make. Whether it is from family, friends, or a community it something that is passed down through generations. It circles around beliefs, values, customs, religion, etc. it is how people express, communicate, and develop bonds with each other.

2.  I simply believe language is a form of communications that over time human beings have created. Language has also creates a bond and connection with one another, and it also helps us understand one another effectively.

I still think the reason that we care is that we human beings need one another and And when we meet somebody that is different from us we automatically want to learn the different things about them. With that comes learning about their language and their culture, because these things are apart of their identity.

1. Personally, I believe that culture is something that shapes a person's identity. It builds the personality of someone because of the way they were raised. Culture and traditions are passed down through generations of people. It is a part of how you raise your future children and beyond that. Culture allows people to create lifelong relationships because they may relate in a certain way. Culture is simply something that brings groups of people together.

2. Language is the origin of communication for wherever people come from. For me personally, my family is Dominican so speaking Spanish is just a natural way of communication. If we want to say things that we might not want others to hear we speak a language that only we understand fluently. Speaking or knowing multiple languages is a fantastic trait to have because it can also benefit you in the real world. Language is unique because there are so many different ones for certain areas of the world. Its the purest form of communication becuase there are so many different ways to say the same thing in a different language.

I believe culture shapes a person's personality and carries the traditions that have been passed down through generations. For example, we often group cultures based on their characteristics or qualities. For instance, Hispanic culture is known for its parties, dancing, and friendliness.

Language is a system of communication that helps us express ourselves and connect with others. However, cultural expressions and dialects give us insight into the identity of a country or region. For example, Japan is often known for being quiet and reserved, but in the southern part of the country, people have a stronger accent and more lively dialect, which creates a different atmosphere.

I think culture is important because many of our values, beliefs, and habits come from it. Not every culture is the same, so appreciating each culture's unique features helps prevent discrimination and allows us to learn from one another.

I believe that culture is the traditions that are repetitively repeated over the years with occasional slight changes to fit alongside modern beliefs. The history of the people that had not only practiced the traditions should be considered alongside those who have interacted with those who have not participated in those practice.

Language could simply be described as communication among others either through verbal language but also regardless of their origins and yet somehow still find some basis to bond and deliver message over to one another. It could even be something as simple as waving your arms in the air with aggressive shout to imply warning or threats or something else as slow, calm, hands open and empty to show themselves as lack of harmful intentions.

Culture is when a group of people or community share common beliefs and practices. It is something built for years and generations, and it is always changing or evolving. Culture can shape one's perception of the world as a whole. Culture brings people together and creates mutual understanding between one another. Language is how we communicate inside as well as outside our own individual cultures. Language is, what I think, an important element of culture because it is shared within a group of people. It is a tool to help us understand all walks of life.  I think culture is so important because it helps us to understand the world and be more aware of what is outside our own personal bubble. We should care about culture because it is apart from every aspect of life: history, science, empathy, etc. If we can take the time to understand cultures and languages outside our own, it can make us well-rounded individuals.

To me, culture is one of the most powerful words in the world. At face value, it's just another word, but when you really dive into what it stands for, it becomes clear it's much more than that. Culture is so unique because while everyone is born into one, there is so much variation. The sharing of cultures is also one of the purest forms of love you can show one another. The bringing together of people to share different family traditions and customs is one of God's greatest gifts. There's a reason everyone has different upbringings and traditions, and to me, that reason is to share them with those around you.

Language is also a word with a much deeper meaning than the one assigned by the dictionary. Just the very idea that people wanted to interact together so badly that they created a tongue they could both agree on and communicate with is beautiful. Now add in the fact that across the world, there are thousands of different languages. While I've chosen to harp on the definition of language in the sense that it's talking about tongue, there is also body language and sign language that could be your interpretation. In conclusion both these words serve a deeper purpose then your average word.

I believe that culture is a community within a certain area with individuals that share the same traditions or daily task. These daily tasks could be passed down to further generations. For example, certain celebrations, holidays, food, and clothes could be cultural. Language is a communication system where we can talk, interact, and connect with other individuals around the world

We care about language and culture because it helps us interact and experience many different things we never seen before, such as a country you never visited. Also, it is important because we use both of these things in our daily life and task

Culture is the values, beliefs, social norms and behaviors that are shared within a society. Your culture can affect how you interact daily, celebrate certain holidays, or even determine how death is handled within that particular group.

Furthermore, Language would be used to describe the words, sounds, gestures and phrases spoken by a particular group of individuals. Language is essential, to human interaction as we cannot communicate with other if we do not speak the same language. This would cause us to not be able to make any advancement in society, if we cannot speak with each other.

In conclusion, with there being over 7,000 languages spoken today, and there being more than 9,000 cultures worldwide. We have to learn how to interact amongst each other and communicate in a way in which we respect all cultures. Especially, in a world where we are seeing globalization, in politics, sports, and media it is best to learn the cultures of other to avoid any conflict and potential advance humankind.

Culture is a set of patterns, traditions and lifestyles centered around a society's core beliefs, environment, and community. These aspects are then prioritized and carried down from generation to generation, further establishing the ideals and events that can help an individual better identify their sense of self and who they come from.

Language is a complex dialect, composed of different vocalization and vocabulary shared between person to person, to communicate one's mind to another person. Originally, without language, living beings are set to use other senses and body language to communicate with their peers. However, for human language, we're able to properly categorize and vocalize aspects of the world around us to other people.

People care because these two topics share a lot in common. Language and Culture can both bring a sense of identity and belonging onto a person who aligns with the culture and language being used. Sharing our differences in Cultures and Language is what advances our understanding of one another, and evolves our means of communication, connecting people as a whole.

I see culture as many elements brought together to create a community of some sort. Whether that be through moral values, specific historical texts, traditions, or specific relationship dynamics, culture can be something that is formed over time generationally or adapted over time. Language is the chosen form of communication a culture may indulge in as the world is constantly evolving and cultures may start to intertwine and overlap.

I think language is technically seen apart of certain cultures. It comes to my mind when I think of the different types of spanish there is between Puerto Ricans, Columbians, and Mexicans. They all indulge in that language itself, but there are different variations between dialect, common words, or even slang. To someone who is unfamiliar with the shift, trying to communicate with all these types of people in such different cultures may be difficult, but it also grows the opportunity to learn the differences.

It is important to be willing to learn about the differences of certain cultures and how they may overlap because in America there is so much culture we have adapted into that we do not even know of. Even if learning where every single thing comes from and how it got to here today, one must still be willing to understand life did not just appear this way. People and community came before us.

Culture is how we connect with those around us. A shared culture helps us grow closer to people. Additionally, cultures can be shared and other cultures can share traditions which allows for an understanding of people which might not have happened otherwise. Language is the way in which we communicate with others. There are countless different languages over the world, each with different nuances and intricacies. Similarly to culture, languages can be taught and shared to others so people can understand the beauty and uniqueness of things that we are unfamiliar with. Both language and culture are very important to humanity as they help us form community.

I see it as culture being the shared beliefs, values, customs of a group. That being expressed through things we can see like actions, art, and social norms. Culture can provide identity to one's self. I also think culture can change slower than language can.

I see language more as a system of communication. It isn't as broad as culture, but a more specific component within a culture. Language evolves faster than culture because new words come out so often and usages of old ones can change quickly.

To me, culture is a set of norms, practices, or traditions that a specific group of individuals partake in. Typically, these practices speak to a group's core values, which will be instilled in many future generations so that there culture will not die.

Language is how a group of individuals within a similar culture communicate with one another. It can offer insight to their extensive history or other facets of their culture. Language connects people of the same background from different regions while simultaneously dividing those of different backgrounds and cultures from one another.

We should care about language and culture to help demolish the barrier separating us from our peers who might have a different background. When we recognize our differences across Earth, we automatically are building connections with individuals miles away from where we live without even being face to face.

Culture consists of the many shared traditions, customs, and beliefs of a certain group of people that has been cultivated over many generations and shared experiences. Language is how the people within a certain group or community communicate with one another. Both culture and language can be shaped by the group's surrounding environment and shared experiences.

Though there are many differences, there are many similarities across different cultures and languages that come from shared basic human instincts. It's important to understand both similarities and differences when experiencing the world or trying to communicate with those whose culture and language differ from your own. By understanding the evolution of a culture or language and their beliefs or customs, it can paint a clearer picture of why people are the way that they are.

I view culture as an environment. I do not believe that culture is determined at birth, rather it is something that is implanted on the person starting from birth onto their adult life. For example, whether people eat from their hands or with a knife or fork is preinstalled at birth. It is something that is done by observation. Culture is defined as a shared set of traits, customs, even ideologies in a group, that shapes their practices and usually separates them from other groups. 

Language is the way that these different groups communicate with each other. While different cultures may have the same language, there are still differences in the words they find acceptable to say, the dialect and vernacular differences, and even creole words mixed in that give the same language a unique feel to different groups.

The reason we care about these too is in the fact that they are not simple. Culture and language are complicated and constantly changing. Due to the fact that culture and language will always be different from person to person, it is only right that they are studied, observed, and utilized in a way that benefits people. Coming back to my statement from culture, because you are not born with culture, there must be a significance to what creates a culture. In this, we can solve many social problems that plague our world of cultural conflict.

In my opinion, culture consists of beliefs, values and customs. It has been passed down from generation to generation and it shapes people, it also influences traditions, food, clothing and art. It can be seen in forms, like festivals and clothing, social norms and values. Ultimately, culture helps define group identity and gives people a sense of belonging within one another.

Language is a way of communication used by specific communities or country. It is a way in which people express thoughts, share information, and connect with one another. Language reflects the culture, often carrying meanings that go beyond words. Each language also comes with its own set of rules, grammar, and vocabulary. Without language, the transmission of knowledge, tradition, and culture would be nearly impossible.

I believe culture is the traditions, self-expressions, and societal norms a distinctive group of people follows and/or does. These traditions can be expressed through clothes, food, language, politics, holidays, events, music and the arts. Culture incorporates an attitude and values that a group holds close to their hearts usually for generations.

Language is a way of communication a group of people use. It can be spoken, read, heard, seen and even felt. Some languages can be broken into sub versions and dialects based on location and culture.

Both language and culture influence each other

To me, culture is the way specific groups of people connect with one another. Put simply, it can't be only created by and performed by one person. It is a community component that allows humans to demonstrate their ways of life. It is a form of expression. Language, to me, is a culture component. It is how people communicate, and it is often shared within cultural bounds. As the world developed, however, language became something that could reach across cultural bounds. Perhaps, in its own way, language can bring people into another culture? In a way, it can bring people together across formerly insurmountable boundaries.

Language, in my opinion and outlook, is a variety of words and sometimes symbols that people use to communicate with each other. Beyond the surface level of language just being “how we talk”, it helps us express how we feel, what we think, and how we communicate to friends and families. We use it so much throughout our lives that we never really stop to think about what language really is and how important it is throughout life. Language is how we make friends, ask for help, learn new things, explain things, and so much more. 

Language is a reflection of the culture it comes from. An example of this would be that some languages have words for feelings or experiences that aren’t implemented in other languages. Just as culture changes, language changes with it. picking up new slang or ways of speaking as times change. In a way, language is like a mirror that shows us what a culture values and how people see the world.
