When the British drank Dutch tea it was against the British government. Some British smuggled Dutch tea. The English citizens asked the English navy to stop the smugglers. The smugglers really didn't care that the navy was looking for them. The British made sure everyone payed the taxes. The Americans didn't want to pay the taxes, because of the way they used the money, like paper, paint and tea. On March 5, 1770, there was a fight and 5 people died. The British stopped the taxes because of the violence. The only thing that was still taxed was tea. The fight was called "The Boston Massacre".

The Townshend Act put taxes on tea and other goods and was later repealed partially. In 1968 the people of the Massachusetts parliament asked the British Navy to stop the tea smugglers from docking at the Boston wharf. On March 5, 1770 a fight against Colonists and Redcoats broke out and the British fired there guns at unarmed citizens. Five had become deceased. The Townshend act was repealed out of British fear of mutiny in the citizens, tea was still taxed.

Chapter 2: In 1767 the British passed a new tax on tea, paper and glass. But some Americans were okay with the tea tax because they did not drink that type of tea they drank Dutch tea that tea was brought by smugglers. Chapter 3: But some Americans did not like the idea of being taxed extra on things that are hardly used like paint, paper and tea. But now the British was worried that the Americans would not pay extra so the British sent some soldiers to make sure that the tax was payed. Fun fact Americans called the British soldiers lobster back's because they wore red coats. On March 5th 1770 a fight happened between armed British soldiers and unarmed Americans. Only 5 Americans died and this fight was called the Boston massacre

They had new taxes and the were called the Townshend Acts. The colonists had to pay a extra 3 cents for every pond of tea they bought. The British troops came into boston to make sure that the people there paid the taxes by the Townshend Acts. The Boston colonists came to Britian and bought tea without paying taxes. The British put up signs to tell them that they need to pay extra taxes when they buy a extra pound of tea.
