On the way to Chloe's settlement house, Violet and Myrtle stop and get hot  dogs (one for each of them) which costs twenty cents. Violet is really upset and Myrtle is trying to comfort her.

The next day, she goes into he hermitage and gets called over by Mr Hanover and tells her a story which she had actually already heard from Myrtle, but knew that it could be very impolite to say so. She also tells Mrs Escuadrille that she is actually a suffragist and Mrs Escuadrille says that she wants to be one too.
