My summary of this poem is the husband was mourning the death of his wife. he was having a mental breakdown which had the effect of his death.

I am fond of the representation of the Raven, I enjoy the multiple perspectives because there isn't actually a wrong answer to what The Raven truly means. In my own opinion, the raven did nothing but say "nevermore" and sit there while the man/skeleton was depriving himself of joy and blaming a bird. He maybe exposed himself to a reality he couldn't handle therefore leaving himself empty like a shell on his floor.

It just did the same thing over and over. Also how they explained the the eyes of the Raven and how their shadow of it.

The key events of the poem are the knocking, the repetition of "Lenore," the raven's arrival, and the death of the speaker.
The tone of the poem was somber and grim, using words such as "darkness peering," "melancholy," and "grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore."
Repetition in the poem showed a sense of importance and drew the reader's attention towards certain words. "Lenore," and "Nevermore" are memorable because of how often they were shown within the poem.
My favorite line is "Quoth the raven, "nevermore!" It is apart of the climax of the poem, and is one of the last times the phrase "Nevermore" is stated, leading to a sense of importance and emphasis.
I believe Poe chose a raven, as the bird is a representative of eeriness, and death. Its' color represents darkness and gives a grim feeling, while the bird is known for being intellectual and crafty.
