The government does have more power and control than what most think. It is completely ironic that the government is producing something that they "forbid". Everything that is happening in their society, the government knows about it, but Winston doesn’t seem to understand the magnitude of the matter.

This shows us, once again, that the government is in control of everything, even pornography. It is ironic that it is written by the government because it is sell to people as something that is going against the law. People buy it believing that they are breaking the law but they are only being controlled by the government as always. Winston thought that government controlled almost everything, but what he did not think is that the government even controls the “illegal” things. Will this give Winston more wishes to rebel? Will Winston feel intimidated by the magnitude of the government's power?

All of this is ironic because, basically, the government is selling these things that are against their laws. The proles buy them and might think that they are breaking the law, but what they don't know is that the government has control of these things too. This shows that the government controls everything, even the proles. The government does have more control over the party because they are controlling everything in the city; legal or illegal things. Winston might be afraid to rebel because he sees how the government has a lot of power and control over the citizens. Maybe, in the future, he will be brave and he will realize that the government is doing too much and finally rebel against them.

This clearly exposes how the system is rooted in every level of society, from the lowest to the highest. The government uses this sex material to keep proles under control, and  they will remain  loyal as long as they have enough for themselves. 
The government does have more control over society than what Winston originally thought. This is shown by the previous example. Winston´s hope is that more people can see this nasty system and get enough courage to rebel.

The job of Julia´s it doesn’t learn something good about her job because she only writes porn books. The stories are written for the proles. Winston and Julia though that they can control to them but the government had more ideas with the porn books that they want but the proles want to take the stories illegally. Yeah is so ironic but they want to have the control of the proles. The government is controlling the proles with food and sex so they can satisfied they sexual needs. I think the government controls more the proles than Winston because they have more ideas so the other people can buy the stories.

They think that they are buying this books from the black market, but they are really getting them from the government, though they do not know this. It is ironic how the government lies to them and still controls them. The proles only want sex and freedom. They think they are free, but they are not.
