<title>We have an organized way to quickly have students pass out the rbooks and materials quickly. I time them. The different classes compete to see who has the best time passing out and collecting materials.</title>

<title>We have one library day per week. I send the students in small groups on their own during their small group time. This frees me up to have individual student conferences during the independent reading time.</title>

<title>When I see students follow directions quickly or &quot;catch&quot; them doing something fantastic, I give them a ticket (generic tickets I buy at Walmart). At the end of class I collect all the tickets and draw 3 names for a piece of candy. I can inexpensively give lots of tickets and only have to hand out 3 pieces of candy. When the kids see me give one person a ticket, they all begin to do what they are supposed to do. I say, &quot;Thank you for following directions quickly!&quot; (or whatever they have done well).</title>
