I am interested in checking out some of the apps that they shared for that purpose (socrative, etc.) One comment that I had a little heartburn over was the objectives centered lesson as though that was wrong. I loved her explanation about the importance of the retrieval process. I agree that we too often focus on the distribution of knowledge as opposed to the tools for retrieving it. That is not naturally intuitive. I liked that he call them protocols. That just adds a level of maturity to the idea of "How we do things in here". I can see where this would be appealing to today's students. I have to do more research to see how this could fit in the context of my teaching role with AIG students. I appreciate the cognitive explanations that he included about making it intriguing and how students love streaks. I've seen that in my own personal children with SnapChat. I will continue to learn about this topic from his Explore Like a Pirate materials. One thing that I would definitely change is the title of the type of gamers. I don't think "killer' would be appropriate for elementary school students.
