This is why they should be paid because colleges makes millions of dollars off these kid but not 1 percent get in the students hands. These students athletes also give high value exposure to their schools with exposure it boosts they applications and donations. These students also give up 35 hours of the week to they respected sports they could be making a little over 1,000 thousand dollars every month but of course they dont make money. Another reason is sports do indeed believe or not take away from they studies . These students are still in school they still have to get a degree . Athletes also need money to spend. They cannot get a job because of school and sports . They already get full scholarships . But half of the kids gets full scholarships. If a university decides to pay the students secondary sports would suffer because most of the money would not come from the school it self. It can get messy to starting paying college athletes because would everybody get paid the same rate? what determines how much do each player make. Another reason is who really gonna benefits is rich universities . They would not have not limited budgets.   They also say it may take the love of the game and the passion.
