Constipation is when you have trouble pooping, go less than three times a week, or your poop is hard and painful to pass. It can happen if you don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables, don’t drink enough water, don’t move around much, or ignore the urge to go. To prevent it, drink more water, eat more fiber, and try to exercise regularly. If it lasts a long time or feels really bad, it’s a good idea to see a doctor.

Constipation is commonly caused by dehydration. This is because the large intestine's primary function is to absorb water from the stool as it moves through the digestive system. When the feaces goes through the large intestine whilst the consumer is dehydrated, the large intestine will absorb more from the food causing to dry up and harden making it harder to pass through the anus. You will be able to realise that you are constipated once you feel nauseous or when it does pass it is dry and lumpy and difficult to push it out of your anus. It can be prevented by drinking more water. A fun fact about constipation is water makes up about 75 percent of your stool so if you are not hydrated enough you will have difficulty to pass. Constipation causes evaluation - Treatment for Constipationcolorectal-surgery.com.sghttps://www.colorectal-surgery.com.sg › constipation › treatment
