The wind mill was a really useful it was used to pump water from down bellow when it was windy it would push it triggering it to raise water .Windmills were first used many centuries ago to help grind grain, and they still were being used for that task in the 1800's. Such Windmills had sails attached to a vertical shaft, which in turn was attached to a grinding stone; as the sails turned the stone, the grain was ground.

One of the main reasons for having a barbed wire fence is containment. Fences can be used in this way in both a human and non-human capacity. Prisons commonly run barbed wire fencing known as razor wire along prison walls. If prisoners try to escape, they run the risk of injury because of the sharp points on the wiring . Protection is a key reason to have a barbed wire fence. The fencing can be laid around a particular area as a way of keeping anything from entering.

The First Transcontinental Railroad in North America was built in the 1860's, linking the well developed railway network of the East coast with rapidly growing California. The vast number of people who traveled the line, and the complex web of connecting routes that followed, set the USA on the path to economic abundance. It also ended the centuries old way of life of the Native Americans and greatly altered the environment.
