Question 3
1.you can use ratio in real life in the grocery store example if a 10-ounce box of cereal costs $3 and a 20-ounce box of cereal costs $5, the 20 ounce box is the better value because each ounce of cereal is cheaper.
2.you can use ratio in real life in cooking example to create the best tasting achiote oil, you combine 1 cup of olive oil with 2 tablespoons of achiote, or orange seeds. This is easy to visualize as a ratio of 1 cup oil to 2 tablespoons seeds.
3. You can use ratio when there is a travel question like are we there yet example road trip from New York City to Philadelphia, you must travel approximately 90 miles. Assuming the car travels at 60 miles per hour, convert the hour to 60 minutes. Then divide the total miles traveled (90 miles) by 60 minutes to demonstrate that the trip to Philadelphia requires one and a half hours by car.

1. A ratio shows how much of one thing is compared to another.Ratios are usually expressed as ___:___.The order in which a ratio is stated is important. Changing the order of the numbers in a ratio changes the proportions.
2. Ratio is important so that we can compare the quantity of multiple things.
3a. Ratio can be used to compare the cost of a 'sarassa' pen to the cost of a 'juice' pen.For example, the 'juice' pen costs $2 and the 'sarassa' pen costs $3.Hence the ratio of the costs of the 2 pens will be 2:3(2 is to 3).
3b. Ratio can also be used to compare the number of girls to the number of boys that attended a party. For example, the number of boys at the party was 16 and the number of girls at the party was 24.Hence the ratio will be 16:24(16 is to 24).The ratio can be simplified to; 8:12-4:6-2:3.So the final ratio is 2:3(2 is to 3).
3c. Ratio can be used to compare the number of students who passed the math test and the number of students who failed the math test.If the number of students who passed was 14 and the number of students who failed the test was 7,the ratio will be 14:7(14 is to 7).Since 14 is a multiple of 7,the ratio can be simplified to 2:1(2 is to 1)

1. Ratio is a relationship or comparison between two or more quantities. Ratio also shows how much one object is compared to another.
For example, if a basket of fruits contains 8 mangoes and 10 oranges, the ratio of mangoes to oranges is 8:10 which can be simplified to 4:5. The sign ':' represents 'is to' in ratio which means 4:5 is also 4 is to 5.

2. Ratio is important because we need to compare two different things in our lives.
For example: You want to bake brownies and for every 1 cup of flour, you must have 2 cups of cocoa powder. The ratio of flour to cocoa powder is written as 1:2.

3. (a) Amy has 7 pens, Ben has 8 pens and Emily has 5 pens. The ratio of the number of pens Amy, Ben and Emily has is 7:8:5. (7 is to 8 is to 5)

3. (b) In a class, there are 16 boys and 20 girls. The ratio of boys to girls is 16:20 which can be simplified to 4:5. (4 is to 5)

3. (c) In John's pencil case, for every 1 pencil he has, he will have 2 pens. In total, he has 3 pencils.
total pens = 3 x 2
= 6
The ratio of pencils to pens is 3:6 which can simplified to 1:2. (1 is to 2)

1. Ratio is the quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other. Most people write ratios with ':' or '/' . Those signs represent 'is to' so 2:3 or 2/3 means 2 is to 3 or 2 to 3.

2. Ratio helps us compare two or more different quantities of different or similar objects or items. It also helps improve your understanding of financial results and trends over time.

3. An example of ratio could be:
Tom has 3 sweets and Pamela has 5 chocolates. The ratio of the two candies is 3:5 also known as 3 to 5.
Another Example is: In a class there is 15 girls and 12 boys. The ratio of the class is 15:12. 15:12 can also be simplified to 5:4 as both 15 and 12 are divided by 3.
One last example of ratio is:
In a bowl there are some fruits mixed together, apples, kiwis and avocados. 1 part of the fruits is apples, 4 parts of the fruits are kiwis and 13 parts of the fruits are avocados. The ratio of the fruits are 1:4:13.

To understand further I made this video:

The ratio's sign is a colon. Ratio simply means a comparison between two or more items. Ratio is important because without ratio we cannot compare the quantitative relation between the items. For example, 1 notebook"s cost is equal to three files then the ratio of the two items are 1 is to 3 which is also known as 1 : 3. Another example, there were ten pizzas. The court judge declares that the prisoners can only eat 2 pizzas altogether but the innocents can eat 8 pizzas altogether. So the ratio is 2 : 8. The third example is in a science examination Alan scored 25 marks out of 30 marks but John scored 27 marks out of 30 marks. So the ratio would be 25 : 30. Lastly, I want to tell you all that ratios can only be simplified if they have a common factor. I found an interesting video. Check it out .

1. Ratio is is a comparison and relationship between two or more numbers, the numbers are values of a item or things, the values must be of the same unit.( if there is )The numbers can be multiplied or divided as long as the new total is a multiple of the old total. When you multiply or divide, you only can multiply or divide it by the same number.
2.Ratio is important as you need it to compare the quantity between two or more objects or items. It helps to make it clearer for you to see the difference so that you can compare easily
3. Ratio is used to compare between the value of items or objects. Some of these examples are:
a) you can use ratio to compare between the price of the same items sold at two different shops
Example:
Shop A sells a balloon at $4 each and Shop B sells a balloon at $2 each, the ratio is 4:2, which can be divided into 2:1, did you notice that the new total is a multiple of the old total? 4+2=6 and that is the old total while 2+1=3 which is the new total, 3 is a multiple of 6. So when you divide, you must make sure that the new total is always a multiple of the old total.
b)You can compare the number of bowls and cups you have at home.
Example:
Evan have 5 cups at home and 10 bowls at home so the ratio is 5:10 which can be divided into 1:2. Did you notice that I divided it by the same number? you must always divide the ratio by the same number.
c) You can compare the length of
the ruler
Example:
Joe have a 7 centimeter ruler and a
30 centimeter ruler, the ratio is 7:30. Did you notice that there is a unit? You can only compare them when you have the same unit. So if I say: Joe have a 1 meter ruler and a 30 centimeter ruler, you cannot find the ratio as they are of different units, you can find ratio when you change the 1 meter to 100 centimeter, then you can find the ratio as the units are the same. So the ratio is 100:30
4. You can only multiply the ratio when you have two comparison and one item is repeated in both comparison and the value of that item is different in each ratio.
Example:
The ratio of green ball:purple ball is 5:7 and the ratio of blue ball: purple ball is 8:14. Did you notice that I have a item repeatedly compared and the value of each the item in each ratio is different? So we have to multiply to make it the same. So we multiply 5:7 to 10:14. So the ratio is now 10:14 and 8:14.
So I can say the ratio of green ball:purple ball:blue ball is 10:14:8.
I have finished explaining all my knowledge on ratio, thank you for reading.

Ratio is the quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other.
In mathematics, a ratio is a relationship between two numbers indicating how many times the first number contains the second. For example, if a bowl of fruit contains eight oranges and six lemons, then the ratio of oranges to lemons is eight to six (that is, 8:6, which is equivalent to the ratio 4:3). Similarly, the ratio of lemons to oranges is 6:8 (or 3:4) and the ratio of oranges to the total amount of fruit is 8:14 (or 4:7).

The numbers in a ratio may be quantities of any kind, such as counts of persons or objects, or such as measurements of lengths, weights, time, etc. In most contexts both numbers are restricted to be positive.

A ratio may be specified either by giving both constituting numbers, written as "a to b" or "a:b", or by giving just the value of their quotient a/b,since the product of the quotient and the second number yields the first, as required by the above definition.

Consequently, a ratio may be considered as an ordered pair of numbers, as a fraction with the first number in the numerator and the second as denominator, or as the value denoted by this fraction. Ratios of counts, given by (non-zero)natural numbers, are rational numbers, and may sometimes be natural numbers. When two quantities are measured with the same unit, as is often the case, their ratio is a dimensionless number. A quotient of two quantities that are measured with different units is called a rate.
