1. How have you / could you read one/some of these texts like an English professor? How did / could this deepen your understanding or interpretation of the text?

I think reading the lyrics of "Terminal Paradise" by Adrianne Lenker like an English professor would be very interesting. The lyrics say a lot, but have hidden meanings. They don't really make sense unless you take a closer look and study them. To read the lyrics like an English professor, I would probably use an ecocriticism lens, as many of the lyrics in the song are related to nature. I think that by looking at this text through an ecocriticism lens, I can understand what Lenkers connection with nature is like, and how she views the world and herself in it.

2. How can you speak to the intertextuality of your collection? Are there any texts or genres that you feel "speak to each other" or are connected in some significant way? does reading/watching one help understand another?

Four texts that really speak to each other are The Twilight Zone, Sea of Tranquility, Just After Sunset, and Palm Springs. Now, after I've named them, it is very obvious that these texts are extremely different from one another. But, after watching/reading them, I can say they are very connected. In each text, the topic of time/space travel is brought up. The Twilight Zone was made a while ago, so there is a huge fascination with the past and future, and what it would be like. Many episodes of the show depict time and space travel. The show itself is about 'another dimension' which is called, you guessed it, The Twilight Zone. Palm Springs, on the other hand, is more recent. Two people get stuck in a time loop after walking into a cave. It could almost be a Twilight Zone episode, just more comedic. Now, Sea of Tranquility is also based around time travel. A man gets a job as a time traveler, and eventually gets himself into a lot of trouble, and upsets the timeline. it is also based in a place where people have colonies on the moon, and pandemics are common happenings on earth. Finally, in Just After Sunset, there are two short stories that discuss time and space travel. "The Things They Left Behind" is a story about a man who finds some belongings of his coworkers in his apartment. The thing is, the coworkers that these items belong to are dead, and as many times as he tries, he can't get rid of them. Like a curse. "N." is a short story about a therapist's notes on a patient. "N" is this patients name for confidentiality. He has found another dimension, and is the only one that can keep the horrors from this place from bleeding into their own world.

I think, if you watch a lot of The Twilight Zone like I have, you notice a lot of things that could be an episode from the show. Many have something to do with time or space. Or both. It's another dimension after all.

3. Based on your answer(s) for question 1 and/or 2... What do the texts in your collection reveal about what it means to be human?

I think the texts in my collection mean that to be human is to want to be someone or somewhere else. From my answers for question 1 and 2, I can conclude that no one wants to be in the present, and we often reminisce on the past, or hope for the future.
