In Poland, the Easter Triduum is celebrated before Easter. On Holy Thursday which begins the Triduum we celebrate the feast of priests on this day was established eucharist and Jesus was captured and brought to the darkroom, just as we on this day bring the Lord Jesus to the darkroom. Then the altar is empty and the tabernacle is open and the eternal lamp is extinguished. The next day in Triduum is Good Friday which is the only day of the year when there is no Mass at the beginning of the priests fall cross in front of the altar. On this day we adore the cross two Sundays before the Resurrection Sunday we cover the crosses. And it is on this day that we discover the cross then there is the rite of holy communion and the transfer of the blessed sacrament to the tomb which ends Good Friday. On Easter Saturday which we call Easter Eve. On this morning we celebrate baskets and at night mass begins at the beginning we celebrate the fire and light it passover from which then we take fire and then and renew the baptismal venous nesses and then at the end of the Mass there is a procession of resurrection around the church with the most holy sacrament and a statue of Jesus the risen one. Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. On this day people go to church bringing their own palmes to be blessed. On Good Saturday the whole family goes to church to bless coloured eggs and other other food. The most Important day of Easter is Easter Sunday, which is proceded by the Ester Vigili with the Resurrection. On this day people celebrate the event and eat Ester Breakfast which includes. The blessed hard boiled eggs, sousages, egg salad and many other dishes. The next day is called Easter Monday. This is the time of fun and sprinkling each other with water. From Holy Thursday to Easter Monday children don’t have to go to school. Easter is the time for family meetings, going to church and reflection.

Polish Easter table.
During the Easter breakfast in Poland, the tableincludes:
- holy (eggs, butter, sausage, bread, salt, pepper, lamb with sugar)
- dyed eggs
- stuffed eggs
- beetle with egg
- vegetable salad
- boiled white sausage
- baked ham, baked meat
- quartered with horseradish
After Easter breakfast we serve: plantain andmazurkas. The table is decorated with beading andcrzecha.

One of the most valued Easter rituals in Portugal is the Compass Pascal, performed over 500 years ago. The streets are taken by small religious groups who leave the churches with a cross and go through the houses to bless them. The faithful who wish to receive the blessing, leave the door of the house open, with flower petals at the entrance and, if they wish, with offers of snacks. The priest rings a bell on the way to warn of the approaching procession. As he passes by, he stops at the doors of the houses with the cross so that it can be kissed by the residents, and makes the house a blessing with holy water.

Today I’m going to teach you how to make a recipe that you can’t miss on the Easter table of many Portuguese people, Regueifa Doce

Ingredients

150 ml of milk

3 large eggs

200 g of sugar

100 g of butter

1 cup of port wine

zest of 1 lemon

1/2 lemon juice

450 g of T55 flour

25 g of baker's yeast

1 pinch of cinnamon

2 gems

Preparation (10 min.)

Cooking (25 min.)

Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Put the flour in a pile open a hole in the middle place the milk with the yeast and all the other ingredients.

Knead well, it becomes a very soft dough but mix flour until you can form a ball, kneading the dough well.

Then just shape the regueifa in a circle and let it rise for 1 hour covered with a cloth.

Brush with egg yolks and bake at 200ºc for about 20 to 25 minutes and that's it.

Here in Santa Maria da Feira where I live, we have the tradition of almond leaf and eggs hunt. It is that come together to celebrate Easter. They open the door of our house to receive the compass and kiss the cross. We prepared and loaf bread showing liqueurs and loaf bread showing our hospitality to the priest and his companions.

Sweet regueifa Santa Maria da Feira
Ingredients:
800gr de farinha trigo sem fermento (flower)
3ovos
150gr de manteiga derretida (melted butter)
150gr de açúcar (sugar)
50gr de fermento padeiro (baking powder)
150ml de água morna (water)
Sumo de limão a seu gosto (lemon juice, at taste)
1 colher de café canela (1 coffee spoon of cinnamon)

Preparation:
Numa maceira de madeira juntam-se os ingredientes todos e amassa-se bem, deixando a levedar. Depois leva-se ao forno de lenha.
Já pronta, barra-se com água morna com açúcar.

In a (wooden) bowl, add all the ingredients and knead well. Leave to rise. Then put it in the (wood) oven.
When ready, cover with warm water with sugar.

Easter is a very dear holiday for the Portuguese, especially for its secular traditions.
It is celebrated as a family celebration and is a celebration of color, joy, and a lot of flavor.
