This is a free webinar titled Teachers as Civic Leaders, It is hosted in partnership with the National Council for Social Studies and is part of the iCivics iCSL program. According to the brochure, “educators not only prepare the next generation of leaders and public servants–they are leaders and public servants. On this panel you will hear from educators who model civic engagement for students both inside and outside of the classroom, by taking the next steps into the different levels of civic leadership.” I chose this as I believe it is important to gain perspective on how to model civil engagement for our students and future leaders.

Teach to Lead represents a partnership between Teach Plus (the professional organization), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), and the U.S. Department of Education. It has almost 200 supporting organizations, including teacher unions, state departments of education, colleges of education, and non-profits.
