WiFi is not an acronym, it is a trademark that means IEEE 802.11x. IEEE 802.11x is a standard for implementing wireless local area network (WLAN). WiFi is a wireless network that can connect a device to the Internet or let others communicate with each other in a central area. A wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits it through an antenna. A wireless router receives the signal, decodes it, and sends the information to the Internet through a wired Ethernet connection. WiFi is not free to the public because hackers can use this WiFi to trick victims to join their network and easily hack into their computers.

WiFi is not free to the public because there are many risks involving security and taxes. First of all setting up a city wide network is costly. The government has to spend a lot of money to ensure that all the inhabitants of the city are able to access free Internet anywhere they wish inside the boundaries of the city. There would also be a lack of security and a raise of taxes. You can’t expect the government to spend all that money without any expectation of getting something in return. There will surely be a steep rise in different types of taxes. So in the end, it really won’t be free. WiFi should not be provided to all citizens like health care because it is way too costly for the government.

You get connection by using a wireless adapter to make "hotspots." The adapter emits frequencies between 2.4GHz - 5GHz to provide the wireless connectivity. WiFi is not free because you are paying for the access. Either the company pays for it and gives it to the customers or its sponsored by a provider (ex: google or Starbucks) Ways to pay for the WiFi is by making purchases online, paying attention to the adds across the screen, etc. If Wifi was provided to poor neighborhoods I believe they would be able to learn and become self educated in order to land a well paid job. I also believe WiFi should be provided like health care. It's 2017 and everyone should be as well educated as they can be in order to make a living this fast advancing technological society. WiFi can help us achieve this.

Wi-Fi is a logo made by Interbrand and does not actually mean or stand for anything. Wi-Fi works by network that use radio waves to transmit information across the network. It works as a two-way traffic, data is received from the internet will also be passed through the router to where it is coded into a radio signal to be received by the computer's wireless adapter. Internet can't be free because internet companies need to make money, as well as the public is paying for security. If everyone had free Wi-Fi it would be easier to access other peoples' private information. Wi-Fi in poor neighborhoods would allow them to access the free information so readily available. This would allow them to self-educate as well as gain access to cheaper online education to achieve a formal degree. Wi-Fi is technically provided to the public through libraries and other public facilities. Home Wi-Fi is unnecessary to be provided to the public, because it is available at public facilities and home Wi-Fi is just a connivance.

Wi-Fi can lead to self-education by means of letting people search things up and remember useful information for later use.

If you think about it, Wi-Fi is already provided in places for free, such as in libraries. While, having it in homes would be easier, it would be an unnecessary. If we promoted libraries and other institutions, it would have a similar effect. leading to more education and literacy.

Wi-Fi, similar to phones, uses radio waves to send information throughout a network. The computers sending and receiving information need a wireless adapter that will translate sent data to it. That data sent from the computer then uses an antenna to a decoder, also known as a router. Wi-Fi is not free because of the risk of random hackers intercepting and abusing a person's network, although some companies take the risk of free wifi for business. In my opinion, WiFi should not be free as too many things are at risk, such as personal information, money, bank records, government documents, and so on.
