The photographer faces the trauma of what he has seen and his bitterness that the people who view his images are unable to empathize fully with the victims of catastrophic violence abroad.

“Standing Female Nude” is a poem that deals heavily with social injustices, both those of class and of gender.

"Before You Were Mine " could be a poem that investigates the way in which motherhood changes a woman, how she can lose her sense of personality and how children seldom get to know the free, free woman their mother was before they had children

How has lesson changed my perspective?

The poem references a number of major historical air strikes and clearly draws imagery from Nick Ut's famous Vietnam War photograph of children fleeing the devastation of a napalm bomb. The presumption in Duffy’s poem is that Salome has committed the murder herself, while within the biblical story Salome only caused John the Baptists death. Duffy outlines the character of Salome as a figure who mishandle her control and gets away with anything. Especially from the standpoint of women.

what did I learn?
This week, we examined at a text (informal letter) about a toxic marriage in which a 39-year-old lady is unhappy in her marriage because her husband ignores her and leads her to believe that she is in a toxic marriage.

How has this changed my perspective?

We had group discussions in which the TEAPCLAIM was used. In the following lesson, we were given fifteen minutes to annotate the paper as much as possible. This strategy exposed me to fresh ideas that I had not thought of. In addition, I was able to obtain more evidence to back up my points in the commentary.

Way forward?
As always I aim for the sky, I give myself a target of 7 points in this essay.

I am trying a new way to write the portfolio. This week, we did a group activity where I recapped how to analyze a cartoon strip. Mr. Samuel announced my essay was very shallow. I am still shocked that despite trying everything I try, I still can't get 7 points. I was criticized for putting two features in one paragraph while there was one example essay that had also put two features in one paragraph. I think maybe I should take the approach of a gym as consistency, dedication and efforts provide results. I have not yet received my marks yet but a 6 would be good. As always I aim for the sky, I give myself a target of 7 points in this essay.

This week while studying the features of a poem I realized how hypocritical I was since, while I despise poets and authors who use figurative language in English, we utilize metaphors and idioms in Hindi at home. My resentment was motivated by my frequent failure to get seven points in English, as I subsequently realized. This week, I learned about anecdote and euphony, newer literary features. my perspective towards the commentary has changed from the IGCSE mentioning to IB reasoning. The way forward is quite plain for me, which is to achieve 7 points as I believe it will aid me to solve my problems.

T1 w5 after midterm the day of failure

Today is a day that I will remember as a failure. I'm disappointed in myself since, after working hard , I only got an 8 out of 20, which is pathetic. Moreover, the biggest shock I received was that, despite doing so well in business and scoring 7 in all examinations except two as well as working harder than the whole class, . My name did not appear on the list of students who had earned a business award. While at the dinner table, I discovered that my brother and all of my cousins were receiving prizes, but I had not received even one. I believe I've had enough of failures and bad luck. Now I need to cut out all of my leisure time and quit chilling on weekends in order to work harder than everyone else, and I need at least 40 points in this mock. The first step is to delete Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.

We had a test this week during class that I had planned and practiced for, so I am hoping to receive better grades. This week, I thought on my performances and realized that no matter what I do, they continue to decline, and I feel helpless. I'm not sure if this is a positive or negative attitude, but I despise failing and losing more than I like receiving high marks and winning. I'm not sure what's going to come in future or what to expect and the last few years have been difficult for me. My performance in everything from football to studies has fallen short of my expectations, but I'm learning a lot of business tips and life lessons from my father, which may be the only good thing that's happened to me in those years. I feel I still have a time to change things around.
